CH. 2 AN UNEXPECTED REUNION

zoey: "well, here we are"

when i open the door i am greeted with a fist flying at my face which i grab and twist, causing pain on the attacker, the attacker in question is a lion with a large scar over his left eye, as i caught his fist i looked at him with a dead expression before letting go "is this how you say hi to all of your new teammates?"

lion: "you are not a teammate, you are a disgusting no-fu-" i cut him off with a swift hit to the stomach with enough force to send him to the ground

"im already sick of that 'nickname' so dont even use it or i will not hold back next time" i tell him with the same expression i had when i caught his fist "got it?"

lion: "f-fuck y-you" he coughs as i sigh in dissapointment at his response before looking around the dorm which is a nice dorm that looks like a room that you would find in a high end hotel

zoey: "well then, i see you have already made a 'friend'" she chuckles to herself upon seeing the lion on the floor "well your room is the last one on the right, im off to oversee the training of some newer recruits, if you need anything just come and find me, im not hard to find"

as zoey leaves i head to my room and set my backpack down and change into  a black shirt and camo pants and look into a mirror reminding me of a large scar that goes from my shoulder all the way to my eyebrow and over my eye, i sigh upon remembering how i got it. once i get out of my room i go into the main part of the dorm to find an unfamiliar face, which is a female fox, when i close my door her ear twitches and she looks at me for a second then her eyes go wide as she realizes i am a human, and i just wave at her

fox: "Who are you and what are you doing in the spec ops dorm?!"

"well i am your newest team member and my name is jack storm, pleasure to meet ya" i say as i hold out my hand

fox: "oh. well then, welcome to the team jack, my name is lily, callsign frost, role sniper" she says as she shakes my hand "i also see that you met tyler, the demolitions expert of the group, he has a short temper and hates humans because when he was a kid, a group from the anti fur terrorists raided his home and killed his mom and dad, and he has hated humans ever since then" when she told me about his past i couldnt help but feel sorry for him because i went through a similar thing to him

"that explains why he tried greeting me with a fist to the face" as i said this lily chuckled "but i am glad atleast one person on this team doesnt hate me for what i am"

lily: "hey, no problem, i have never been one to assume that if one person is bad in a species, then all of them are bad, hey wanna head to the shooting range? i wanna see how accurate you are at long distances"

"sure, sounds like fun" as lily starts to lead me to the shooting range, some of the other fur's looked at me in disgust, seeing that i am walking with a member of the spec ops group, one of the fur's we walk past starts to follow us at a distance, i dont think much of it. once we get to the shooting range i grab a 9mm handgun and set the target to 500m and lily just looks at me like i am insane and i start to laugh

lily: "you serious about that range jack?" she asks me while looking at me with a very confused look

"yup"

lily: "you are nuts if you think you can hit that, i cant even hit a target from 300m away with just the irons on my sniper"

my only response is a slight chuckle as i aim the 9mm at the target, but before i fire i see the same fur from earlier aiming a rifle at me with a smirk on his face.
