(Rickard Stark POV)

--------------------------------

Rickard Stark on principle liked to carefully scrutinize a situation before he reacted.

Thus, when Brandon showed up with the Heir to Casterly Rock wounded but alive with three lions at his side...well he was of two minds.

On the one hand he needed to determine just what the hell had happened and quickly at that.

But...

As a father himself - and a widower at that - he also knew the toll it took on a Parent not knowing if their loved one was okay.

So, if the Lannister didn't wake up within the next day, then Rickard would send word to Lady Joanna. Technically he ought to send word to Lord Tywin, however as Hand of The King to King Aerys II Targaryen, Lord Tywin had named his Lady Wife as the Acting Paramount of the West, and thus the Westerlands were run by Lady Joanna. Furthermore as the boys mother as well as acting head of the family in Lord Tywin's absence meant the informing letter would only be passed on to Lord Tywin at Lady Joanna's discretion

Still, the question needed to be asked quickly: Why was the Heir to Casterly Rock in the North with Three Lions and an Arrow in his back. And how did that arrow get there and who shot it into the boy. If the Reyne-Tarbeck Rebellion outcome was any indication, whomever was the unlucky sod to do so would watch their family and home be destroyed before having their own life taken by the Vengeful House Lannister.

That was something Stark's and Lannister's agreed on, strike against a Wolf or Lion and their pack or Pride will tear your apart in revenge, but only after your family has been devoured or left to destroy themselves.

(POV Shift: Lyanna Stark)

--------------------------------

As the only other person besides the Maester with a semblance of understanding on healing small wounds, it fell to Lyanna to change and clean the bandages of the Lion within Winterfell. Lyanna knew she shouldn't but she was slightly curious about the physique of a Southerner.

So she did her best to peek without seeing anything obscene or being caught in a bad light. As young as the boy was, he had the makings of some muscle on him, but as expected nothing had been set in stone yet.

It was strange, he was a year her junior and yet his eyes, as hazy and half-conscious as he was seemed older than many at Winterfell when she looked into them. Almost like he had seen more than he should and was haunted by it.

Though whatever it was was anyone's guess.

Still Lyanna had a feeling that as haunted by it qs the boy was, he would relentlessly pursue the means to stop it. He had that look about him. An Unstoppable, yet not single-minded focus.

It was attractive Lyanna supposed, but she was never one to care for attractive personality or appearance, even if curiosity had gotten the better of her. She was a Northerner, more than that she was a Stark.

Northerners and Starks judged a man on his own deeds snd merits, not those of his family or forebears. Those might affect an initial opinion mind you, but as time went on whose to say whether or not that judgement stayed the same or not.
