Big Trouble in Little Carne

Start from the beginning

(Y/n): what was that, Mare?

Mare: magic...

Aura: magic? you're already good at that?

She teases her brother stepping forward making Aura step back kneeling down to Mare's level

(Y/n): that's great perhaps you can teach me in magic as well, Mare.

You smile at him ruffling his hair giving you a small smile back

(Y/n): hm, you three can start and...I guess I'll spot you three intervalley, I'll start with you Aura.

Aura: yes.

Sif walks to one of the training dummies retrieving her rapier jabbing at the dummy

Mare walks to an empty spot on the field to practice his magic

(Y/n): fast...hm, for something at good at I'm having a hard time trying to figure a way to help train that...how about we just start by running a few laps around the arena.

Aura: I'm ready for anything.

(Y/n): overconfident are we, let's start with an easy eighty laps.

Aura: e-eighty?!

(Y/n): keep up, young grasshopper.

You shed off your armor plates leaving your scale mail bodysuit starting your sprint Aura running after you slowing down to a pace to match her

(Y/n): cardio is a good step I think...try to build your endurance further can't go fast if you start acting like fish after a few seconds.

You two kept this pace around your thirtieth lap did Aura finally show signs of fatigue taking deep breathes compared to your relax state

Aura: Lord Gier...

(Y/n): don't talk Aura best keep your focus.

Aura: ...why did you want to run fast?

You almost trip managing to fix your footing keeping your pace not answering her question she stays silent thinking she might've offended you

(Y/n): let's try to break fifty...and then maybe we can take a short break.

She nods pushing forward making it a couple of feet in front of you smirking you increase your pace slightly easily passing her and you don't stop there

(Y/n): fourty-seven...

Aura gives short quick breathes as you pass her

(Y/n): fourty-eight...

You pass her once more as she starts running sideways trying to compose her breathing as her legs beg to give up

(Y/n): fourty-nine...

Her legs give in too tired to react she awaits the hard embrace of the floor closing her eyes...

She opens them finding herself held up by you

(Y/n): fifty...let's take a break.

You rest your back against the wall lowering yourself into a seating position, a wall sit

She joins you even when you tell her to rest chuckling

(Y/n): you know, there's a story that is quite popular among children.

Aura: what's the story?

(Y/n): it's about a hare and a tortoise that compete in a race...the hare is fast, but arrogant the turtle on the other hand is persistent, but slow.
