I Was In

Untitled Part 5

I groggily lifted my head from my pillow. I heard some paper being crinkled and computer keys clicking. I looked to my desk and saw Reece hunched over his computer, typing madly. Kohl was staring at a printed out map, deep in thought.

"Guys?" I questioned. They were both so involved in what they were doing they kind of jumped. Reece cleared his throat. "Umm we're planning the trip for finding people to interview, duh."

"Well where are we going then?" Kohl took a long pause for a dramatic effect that really just made me nervous, "LA. that's where we're going."

"Cool, cool. But where are we gonna stay?" Reece looked at me thoughtfully, "Wes this adventure is going to be set up by me and Kohl, you don't have to lift a finger outside of the actual production of our film. Don't worry bro, we're figuring it all out now"

As much as I loved my friends, they weren't always the most dependable guys, no offense to them of course. But I decided to go along with their Mother's Day, breakfast in bed type of plan. No finger lifting for me, at least for a little while.

After leaving me to my thoughts for another half hour, Reece turned around in my swivel chair, a triumphant look on his face. "So Wessy, I've already convinced your mom and dad to let you come on the adventure, so now all that's left is for you to pack. We can leave for LA at six tonight."

I nodded, trying to smile but it probably looked like a grimace. "So me and Kohl are gonna head out, we'll be back at 5:30 to load up Kohl's van." I waved as they exited my room but didn't say anything.

I began thinking about how the film could turn out when my thoughts were interrupted by a beep from my phone. I ran over to check it.

I could almost feel the color draining from my face as I looked at why my phone had disrupted my imagination.

I had a text... From Violet.
