Ocean Eyes

Prologue

I followed behind my sister, Jessica. We were headed towards Josh's parents cabin for the weekend. "God it's freezing outside, I hate it out here, it's so creepy." Jessica stated

"It's not really that bad, I think it's quite beautiful!" I exclaim, "Hold on Jess I wanna take a picture." I smile as I grab my camera and take a few shots of the white wonderland that the forest has turned into.

"Oooh! Take a picture of me!" Jessica says, clapping her hands to get my attention before posing infront of the snow. I grin as I take a few shots of her, getting different angles of her with the snow.

I giggle as I start looking back at the photos, Jess rushes over and begs to see the pictures. "Wow, I look hot." She smirks. "Okay okay, enough goofing around, i'm sure everyone is waiting for us." I say as I start walking forward.

After what seemed like hours we finally get up the mountain, after we get off the lift we look around for a while.

"Hey, Ocean, i'm gonna wait around for Mike to get here! You can already go up the mountain to the cabin." Jess says turning to me and smiling. I sigh, "I guess so, i'll see you up there." I start walking more into the forest.

I get to the cabin only to find Josh there, messing with the doorknob. I walk up towards him, "Hey Josh!" I smile

He jumps lightly as he turns around, "Jesus girl you almost gave me a heart attack!" he smiles, "Sorry! My bad." I grin. "So..how are you?" He says motioning with his hand.

"Freezing but, good! Uh, how have you been..you know with everything-" he stops me, "Stop. It's okay, i'm fine. I promise." He says

I could tell he wasn't really alright but before I could say anything else, he pulled me into a hug. "It's really nice seeing you here, thank you." He whispers. "It's really good to be here, I missed everyone here" I sigh. He pulls away, "Where's Jess?" he asks

"Where do you think?" I smile, "She's waiting for Mike." He grins slightly, "Should've known."

I hear someone coming up behind us, I turn around to see Ashley, Matt, and Emily. I wave to them as I make my way down the stairs. "Hey Ash!" I say as I hug her tightly.

"Oh my gosh! I haven't seen you in forever it feels like!" She exclaims. "Hey Matt, hey Emily!" I say over Ashley's shoulder.

"Hey O, good to see you again." He says and I smile. "I don't know how you can all be so happy when we're all freezing our asses off." Emily scoffs.

"She's always happy, that's why." Josh calls from the door. "Trust me I can see." Emily replies.

Chris and Samantha soon arrive, I hug both of them excitedly. "I'm so glad we're all here!" I smile. "Yeah, it actually feels nice to be back here for once after..." Chris trails off. "Yeah.." I mutter as I bite my cheek.

Soon Chris walks off to talk to Josh and it's just Sam and I, "So how have you been holding up?" she asks, "Pretty good I guess. What about you?"

"I'm great just freezing!" she laughs, "I'm just worried for Josh, with everything that happened last year." she sighs with a frown, "Me too...I tired to talk to him about it and he just shrugged me off, telling me he's fine and all but I think he's hurting inside. I can sense it." I tell her.

"I-I just miss them so much, I can't imagine what Josh is going through." I admit as I look back at Josh for a minute. "He's been having a hard time. I think we all have, but we all have each other and i'm so glad we're all here together." Sam gives a hopeful smile.

I smile slightly as I hug her, "You always know what to say, thank you Sam, I really appreciate you so much." She smiles, "We just all need to be happy here, even if that tragedy happened, let's have a good time. For Hannah and Beth." I smile at her and nod. We start to walk towards the stairs and sit down with ashley, waiting for the door to be unfrozen.
