Jungkook comes across a pretty boy while chasing a gold leaf.

Author POV

The autumn leaves had finally begun to fall, the various colors and shapes covering the campus grounds. Jungkook was on his way back to his dorm having just attended his three afternoon classes and he smiled to himself when one of the golden leaves landed on his head. He plucked it from his long purple hair, inspecting the thick veins running through the fast-dying organism. It wasn't extremely brittle to the touch but he didn't want to hold it too firmly in fear of damaging it.

Jungkook carefully placed it on one of the nearby benches as he extracted his notebook from his backpack. Right as he obtained a writing utensil from his pencil case, a gust of wind came through and blew the delicate leaf into the air. He quickly gathered up his backpack and other belongings as he chased it along the path, nearly running into a group of classmates in the process. He muttered a hasty 'sorry' over his shoulder as he followed the beautiful leaf with his doe eyes.

The gold leaf fluttered in the wind, twisting and turning as though it were dancing to a song only it could hear. Each time the leaf was just out of his reach another big gust of wind would blow it up higher in the air again. The agile sophomore huffed in annoyance as he was guided further and further away from his dorm. Before he even realized it, ten minutes had passed by and he was practically halfway across the campus.

Jungkook willed his tired feet to keep up with the golden leaf, a few beads of sweat gathering on his forehead as he continued to chase after it. The oversized navy blue cardigan he was wearing was flapping in the wind with each stride. His baggy black sweatpants started to hang low on his tiny waist, his free hand automatically reaching up to hold them in place. The beige timberlands on his feet made a loud thud noise whenever it came in contact with the sidewalk below.

A few moments later, the wind finally died down and Jungkook watched as the golden leaf slowly descended. He breathed a sigh of relief as he let up on his speed a bit, his legs settling for a brisk jog instead. His dark brown eyes gazed up at the stray leaf intently so he could estimate where it was going to land. And even though there were countless leaves blowing around, he managed to track this particular one expertly. The precious leaf dodged and slipped between the others with no trouble.

To Jungkook's dismay, his extremely sought after gold leaf was whisked off to a large oak tree. He cursed under his breath when it landed in one of the branches. His feet came to a stop at the trunk of the tree as he gazed up longingly at the leaf, his things dropping to the ground beside him. It had fallen onto one of the lower hanging limbs, so he attempted to reach it by jumping. A pout formed on his thin rosy lips when he realized he wasn't tall enough to reach it himself. Which meant that all his chasing had been for nothing.

Now he was far away from his dorm, tired, and without his precious gold leaf...

"If only I was just-"

"Um...e-excuse me?"

Jungkook jolted at the sudden sound. He thought he was alone out here. It was nearly dusk so most of the students were either in the comfort of their dorm rooms or already in one of the many dining halls eating their dinner. His body immediately turned towards the source of the soft voice, his lips parting when he came face to face with a shorter blonde haired boy.

A very pretty one at that.

His lips were plump and his cheeks were flushed, probably from being out in the chilly weather so late in the day. He had on a large white sweater that masked the petite frame underneath, the sleeves engulfing almost his entire hand so only his fingertips were visible. His legs adorned a pair of tight fitting jeans that flared out at the bottom and hid the tops of his white and blue converse shoes. It was only when Jungkook's eyes returned to the boy's handsome face that he noticed he was speaking to him again.
