The year is 2025 and all of japan is in ruin. Survivors now run for their lives, they run from the angry spirits/demons they are commonly called "Bake-mono" nearly half the population has dwindled and now only few remain. My name is Omino Takahashi, I am one of few survivors, are there more survivors out there? Should we try to find more if they're any?
when a bake-mono is present, it gives off a distinct smell, like burning flesh and a shriek that shakes you to the very core with undying fear. I remember when i had my first encounter, it was chasing after survivors, I was hiding in an old bar. I was terrified but, i couldn't let it harm anyone. I broke off a piece of lead pipe from where i was hiding and stabbed it in the chest, it's agonizing shriek was even scarier as it wailed in pain. As it rolled around the ruins of Hirokyo it called for the others. by the time the fear deminished, there were many others that materialized, so turned tail and ran.
It never used to be like this. . . . Japan never used to be this insane. . . . until that one day everything changed.
