[ a snow-white gown, embellished with pale gold & translucent jewels, flows down the steps of a pristine marble cathedral. the horned woman wearing it readjusts herself, brushing aside her feathered sleeves. the brief sound of various charms and bells break the silence of the holy ground with that simple movement.

the altar, decorated with expensive silks, offerings, and grimoires, carries the scent of smoke.

the stained glass window behind the sanctuary, depicting the goddess in her full glory, casts fragmented rays of sun upon the ivory, illuminating her gown.

she looks ethereal.

all is still again.

only the faint sound of flames flickering can be heard.

[ the golden fields are silent, aside from the faint buzzing of cicadas, and the rustling of wind through the tall grass.

the sky is dyed in gold & red, stars beginning to show their faces.

the red fox rests under the tree on the raised hill amidst the grass, plucking at a lute, humming an old lullaby.

a few sheets of blank paper are scattered by his right leg, which is propped up on a large root, accompanied by a single ink cartridge and pen.

the humming slows to a stop after a while, followed by a light sigh, and the faint thud of the fox collapsing back into the tree trunk.

it appears the fox has hit a roadblock in his song-writing. ]

black wings outstretched, the humanoid leans into the cold night air, smiling faintly, eyes closed. her eyeliner is slightly run, light black lines trailing down her face. the tear-stains are not of agony or grief, but of relief.

sighing a low, happy breath, the raven general reaches up, brushing her hair back and away from her eyes, legs swaying idly as she readjusts.
