To My Beloved Daughter Altair, I am sorry. Everything is my fault. It was my job as an Earthling father to care for my child and protect you from the danger of the outside world, but I can now see clearly that the world needed protection from you. It was my job as a Saiyan father to train you to be the strongest and highest potential you could become, to build you into a Saiyan warrior, and teach you how to control your power, before my time on this Earth has passed, and the torch must be handed onto you and your younger brother. I have failed on both merits, and I must pay the consequences. But even in failure, I will continue to protect you and the many others that I love, I'll do anything it takes, even put my own life at risk.
I haven't told your mother this, but I have linked my soul, my very lifeforce and essence, to the Angelic Cube; forever connected to the survival of you in your imprisonment. If that cube is to ever be destroyed, and you are to be killed by such, then I will go along with you. It's what I think is right. It's what I wish to do. If you feel my energy fluctuate then that means it's my time to go to a better place. The Gods tried to contest me in my efforts. They told me my idea of protection was idiotic, dangerous for a mortal such as myself. But I didn't care. As long as you're doing OK, as long as my very soul is still with you in some form or fashion, then I am content. I will only be at peace as long as you are alive and well. Your mother will be devastated by my decision, I cannot bear the pain she would feel if I ever told her what I've done. But I had to do what I had to do.
When I die, whether from old age or by the hands of a great evil, and the link between you, the cube and I is broken, I trust in The Gods to ensure your safety and everyone else around you as you begin to explore the world and the beauties it has to offer. But do not worry, as even in death my angel will watch over you. Everything will be OK, everything will be fine. I will always be there whenever you need me, both in life and in death.
-To My Beloved Daughter; Altair: I love you.

To my sweet, sweet little girl; Altair. I still remember the day you were born. The doctor told me that flying while I was pregnant was extremely dangerous, so your father learned how to drive just so he could get me to the hospital. He was horrible. Your insufferable father broke every law of the road, just like his grandfather. I was yelling at him, he was yelling at me, and the cops were yelling at us. It was a chaotic mess, but a funny fond memory nonetheless. I must say, your delivery was the most painful thing I have ever experienced. More painful than the many great and treacherous battles your father and I have been through. But guess what: it was all worth it. The tortuous nine months of stomach aches, vaginal cramps, migraines and emotional rollercoasters I went through was all worth it: to finally see the most beautiful child in the world; you.
When you were born everyone and everything stopped and watched, to mesmerize, to witness the greatest little girl to ever step foot into this world.
Do you want to know how we came up with your name? We named you after the star: Altair. When you opened your eyes for the first time your red irises twinkled like the night sky: it was truly the most beautiful thing we've ever laid our eyes upon. And every night, the star Altair would shine bright above our house, bright enough that it outshined every star in the galaxy. And when you were born the star grew only brighter and brighter as you aged; like your soul was connected to it.

FanfikceTried something different with my writing style here. I was reading over some of Gotex's Exile Series posts and got a spark of inspiration. Also, he told me to write something about "the sensation of distortion", I wasn't sure how I was going to mak...
