Kabanata 11: La boutique de Adalle

The whole ride papuntang mall was a torture for me lalo na't hindi natigil sa pagpapalitan ng masamang tingin ang dalawang lalake sa harapan ko dahil parehas silang naka-upo sa harapan habang ako naman sa likod lang.

Ipinagpasalamat ko lang talaga na mabilis lang kaming nakarating sa sinasabing mall dahil hindi ko na kaya pa ang katahimikan at tensiyon nilang dalawa.

When Xav parked the car, una akong lumabas at iniwan sila roon. I waited for them in the elevator at nang dumating sila ay ramdam ko pa rin ang tension nilang dalawa kaya napabuntong hininga na lamang ako.

While in the elevator ay tinanong ko na agad si Xav kung anong pangalan ng store na pupuntahan namin para mauna na ako sa pagpunta roon and thankfully sinabi niya naman sa akin.

I can't stay with these two immature man who keep changing glares na akala mo'y nagpapatayan na sila sa sariling isipan.

When we reached the floor destination ay kaagad akong lumabas at nagmamadaling naglakad ng hindi sila nililingon. I even heard them called me but I didn't bother to look or even stop.

Bahala sila! Magpatayan na lang kamo silang dalawa kung gusto nila.

When I reached the said store ay para akong batang napatigil at inangat ang tingin sa signage ng store.

‘La boutique Adalle’

The name was giving a french vibe, so unique and elegant.

“Hi ma'am, how can I help you?” A sales lady approach me, “Uhh, nandito po ba si ma'am Frayles?” I asked and her lighten up as a wide smile form upon her lips.

“You are miss Felize Villegas, right? if I'm not mistaken” She uttered and I just nodded, “Okay then, follow me ma'am. Mrs. Amanda is already waiting for you” nakangiting ani ng sales lady at iginiya ako sa kung saan naroon ang ginang.

When we arrived at the said room ay kaagad na napadapo ang tingin ng mag-ina sa akin.

Adalee's eyes was directed at me as her smile grew wider while her mother also smile at me before she nodded at doon na lumabas ang sales lady.

“It's nice to see you again iha, maupo ka” she uttered gently and when they notice that I didn't move a bit ay nilapitan ako ni Ada at pilit na pinaupo kaya wala akong nagawa at umupo na lamang.

“Do I make you uncomfy?” tanong ng ginang na kaagad kong ikinailing, ”Hindi naman po” I answered honestly.

“Well, that's good to know. Wait lang muna ha, may tatawagin lang ako” She gently uttered as she stand and smile at me bago bumaling sa gilid at tinawag si Ada na presentableng naka-upo sa vanity chair na lumapit sa amin.

“You'll stay here with ate lize muna baby ha?” She gently uttered to her daughter who just nodded and walked beside me silently. Napabalik ang tingin ko sa nanay niyang ngumiti lang bago umalis.

“So.. ate lize, do you have any idea why my mom invited you here?” bungad na tanong ni Ada pagkaalis ni tita.
“Dahil sa dinner and she wants to know me better. That's what your brother told me” I shrugged my head, not sure of my answer.

She heaved a sigh and shook her head afterwards na para bang namomroblema siya, “My mom is so secretive” she uttered looking in the air with furrowed brows.

Napangiwi ako't napatitig kay Ada. I don't really think that she's just five.

“We don't really know why she invited you for tomorrow's dinner eh mag-uusap lang naman sila about family business matter and some deal with other business man and woman too. Are you a business something ate?” she asked out of nowhere after saying her inner monologues na nagpataka sa akin.
