16 - 'Moving in- if only for a while'

Start from the beginning

"Angel, are you in my pack?" He asked, his eyebrows rose expectantly.

"Well... no" I grimaced.

"And are you- or are you not dating my brother?" he carried on, but there was real curiosity behind this question.

"No" I answered honestly. "He's my best friend, that's all" I shrugged dropping my gaze.

"Yeah, that's what you think." He smirked, but there was seriousness behind his eyes.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Well, I don't think he's going to want to be just 'friends' for much longer." A haunted smile appeared on his face.

"Oh" was all I could say. I dropped my gaze, and it went silent for a few seconds before he carried on.

"And have I mated you?" He mused and then corrected himself "- Actually, have I even started the mating process with you?"

"Er, well... I...I guess not" I frowned at myself- putting it that way I was pretty 'haywire,' especially when he was an alpha - a powerful alpha at that. I knew that if he wanted he could quite easily have forced himself on me on our first encounter... but he didn't.

"See- if they found out, I would have no choice but to use force" another sideways glance at me, had my cheeks blushing and my heart beat increasing as I realized what he meant. Note to self, DON'T TELL ANYONE! I don't really want to be raped of my virginity, thank you very much!

"Calm down Angel, I won't hurt you... I could never hurt you" he whispered the last part so quietly, that I wasn't sure I had heard him right. I didn't have time to ponder over my suspicions because just then we pulled into the Iverson estate.

Even though I had been here so many times before, it never seized to amaze me at just how amazingly lavish and grand it was. To say it was big would be the understatement of the century, It had three floors, and its vast square footage was breathtaking. It was a grey brick mansion, with a faded blue roof and many balconies and verandas. It was definitely my dream house; I wouldn't even like to begin thinking about how much it cost the Iverson's to build. My eyes stopped roaming the house, as the ornate front door swung open and Mr. and Mrs. Iverson stood there.

"Sky, honey" Mrs. Iverson walked towards us as I got out of Klaus's car.

"Hey, Mrs. Iverson" I smiled kindly, as she pulled me into a hug.

"I've told you to call me Beth." She rolled her eyes as she stepped away from me.

"Sorry, Mrs... I mean Beth" I amended myself.

"Hi, Mr. Iverson" I smiled warmly, as he stood behind her with his arm around her waist.

"Sky" he nodded his head. He was the type of man which said a lot with just the way he tilted his head.

"Klaus, Keith, go bring Sky's stuff in" Mrs. Iverson grinned, as she grabbed my arm and started to drag me into the house.

"WESLEY!" She shouted up to the stairs as she continued to drag me into the kitchen. "So I made cookies." She grinned shoving the plate of cookies in front of my face, grinning wildly.

"Er thanks" I smiled awkwardly as I took a cookie from the plate, who is she and what did she do with the old Mrs. Iverson? Of course, she had always been warm and welcoming but not this warm and welcoming.

"Soo... How are you and Wesley?" She grinned in a hushed whisper. I looked at her confused, I didn't like the way she said you and Wesley. It sounded like we were a couple.

"Er..." I began to explain to her that we were fine, but nothing was going on between us. When I was cut off by a loud yawn from the doorway.

"Wesley" she scolded, and I turned to face him.

"Sky! What are you doing here?" He asked, looking between his mother and me confused.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you, Sky's staying with us for a couple of weeks."

"What?" He looked at his mother in surprise and then looked at me "Really?" A huge grin spread across his face, and I couldn't help but think about what Klaus had said before, what if he was right and Wesley actually did want to be more than just friends? I shook the thought away, of course not. I wouldn't even think about it if he hadn't mentioned it.

"Yep" I nodded, noticing Klaus and Mr. Iverson come in behind him. I couldn't help but realize my attention was directly focused on a particular pair of grey eyes, as they gazed into mine.

"My room has a spare bed, you coming Sky?" Wesley nodded his head to the side, indicating me to follow him like it was no big deal, and really it wasn't. I stayed in his room all the time because it was - like the rest of the house, ma-a-sive! It had like two double beds and two sofa beds meaning we would all crash there, I usually got the spare bed, June and Brody got one sofa bed, Chase got the other and Quinn got the sofa. I was about to follow him, both Mr. and Mrs. Iverson thinking nothing of it as they began a conversation between the two of them; they knew I usually slept there- and from the look on Mrs. Iverson's face, I could tell she wouldn't mind if something actually did happen between us. EW that was not a picture I wanted in my head. Wesley was a nice guy and good looking, but the thought of doing anything like that with him made me literally cringe.

I began to follow him when something grabbed hold of my arm pulling me to a stop.

"What?!" a snarl escaped around the word, and I froze- only now remembering that Klaus was still here. All I could do was stare up into his blazing eyes. "She's not staying with him," He growled furiously, and I couldn't even look to see his parent's reactions, due to the fact I couldn't take my eyes off of his.

"Well, why not?" Mrs. Iverson asked innocently, and I could tell she was taken by surprise at his sudden anger.

"She will be staying in the spare room." He stated flatly, daring her to say differently. It was strange and scary at the same time to realize that when it came down to mother and son, he would still have the last word; his alpha authority coming out slightly, though I doubt he even realized it.

"Son, don't you dare talk to your mother like that!" Mr. Iverson squared his shoulders and looked sternly at Klaus, so I wasn't the only one to notice Klaus's tone of voice. "Sky will stay where she wants to stay."

Aw thanks Mr. Iverson, I thought sarcastically, looking back into Klaus's eyes, I knew I didn't have a choice in this.

"Um, could you show me to the spare room?" I muttered dropping my gaze so I wouldn't see Wesley's or Mrs. Iverson's expression.

"Are you sure honey?" I heard her ask.

"Yep, it will be easier, seeing as I'm going to be staying here for more than just a night." I reminded her, thinking about it I could see where Klaus was coming from. The whole shower, toilet and changing situation would be sort of awkward. Wesley didn't say anything as I allowed Klaus to lead me out of the kitchen and along a long hallway, which I had never been down before.

"Here." He smiled my favorite smile, as he opened one of the two doors at the end of the corridor. He ushered me in before him, and I heard him close the door. I looked around at the beautiful room in front of me. It had a sophisticated color scheme of white, blue and red. It was truly amazing, not as amazing as my own at home though, but that was because gran herself designed it, and I was pretty sure an interior designer would have created this one.

"Do you like it?" I shivered as Klaus's cool breath hit my neck and his arms snaked around my waist, pulling me gently into his chest. All I could do was nod like an idiot as the sparks ran through my body. I had to use all my strength not to turn around and... NO Sky enough! I scolded myself.

"KLAUS, SKY DINNER'S READY" Mrs. Iverson's voice rang through the house like a bell, causing Klaus to growl and reluctantly pull away from me.

Something tells me this is going to be an interesting dinner...
