Robin just arrived at her apartment after a long shift. She called out for Nancy as she entered the apartment and heard a loud "hmm" come from Nancy's room. Robin walked through their shared apartment and found Nancy in her room sitting on her bed.
"What's all this?" Nancy was sitting on her bed with an assortment of lipsticks.
"They were on sale so I bought a few. Do you think it's too much?" Robin glanced around the bed to see that at least a dozen lipsticks were aligned neatly on Nancy's bed.
"No, no, it's not that much." Robin lied and made space for herself and sat on the shorter girl's bed. She was ready to lie down and go to sleep, but the lipstick situation kept her amused.
"What colors did you get?" Robin questioned.
"Just shades of red mainly."
"Hmm, this shade would look good on you, try it." Robin handed Nancy a shade of red that looks similar to the one she usually uses. Nancy reached out but withdrew her hand as Robin started talking again.
"Actually, I can put this on you, somehow you always manage to miss a spot or mess up." Nancy didn't object to this, and Robin soon found herself regretting her decision because this did not help her growing crush on her best friend.
Robin edged closer to the shorter girl and straightened her abnormally tense back. Tentative fingers touched Nancy's warm chin and gently directed her face upwards. Her skin felt impeccably soft and smooth under the pads of Robin's fingers. The taller girl willed herself to focus on the pair of full lips situated right in front of her face. It didn't take much effort though because the moment Nancy slightly parted her lips and wet them with her tongue, Nancy's mouth was all Robin could see.
"Okay, Nancy keep still." The words came out of her mouth in a low whisper. Robin brought the lipstick up to Nancy's lips. She knows how to apply lipstick. She's done it on herself for years and has even done it a countless amount of times for other people but nothing could have ever prepared her for this moment.
Did it help that Nancy had the prettiest lips? Absolutely not.
Robin's mouth went dry when Nancy licked her bottom lip again and slightly sucked it in to nip at the pink flesh. Robin urged herself to calm her shaky hand before Nancy could speak about it because she was sure that Nancy noticed.
"Uhm, do you usually do your top or bottom lip first?" Robin hoped Nancy couldn't hear the shakiness in her voice.
"Whichever one is fine. Are you positive you know how to do this? It's alright if you d-"
"No, no, I do know. Just keep still!" Robin's fingers slid up from Nancy's chin to cup her cheeks. She instantly got to work, not wanting to test the other girl's patience. As steadily as she could, she gently dragged the lipstick from the center of Nancy's upper lip and ran it along the planes of her skin down to the right edge.
Robin didn't know why Nancy chose to bring her fingers up and hook them on the insides of Nancy's elbows. It made it harder for her to focus and only fed the flames that were blazing in Robin's heart.
Sweat rolled down her shoulder blades as she finished applying the lipstick to the top and began to work on the bottom. The fingers that were hooked on her elbows began to scratch lightly against her skin and she had to put additional effort into remaining concentrated and stabilizing her hand.
While she placed firm strokes, her mind began to roam. Red looked amazing on Nancy and she started to wonder what it would be like to have the woman before her leave dark crimson on her cheeks and all across the length of her neck.
