CHAPTER FIVE: heartof darkness

MARCELLUS OCTAVIUS WILSON HAD BEEN CONFUSED WHEN KEVIN KELLER HAD PULLED HIM ALONG. Yes, recently, he had been hanging out with the other. But, it came to him as a shock that the other was so willing to be near him.
Kevin was re-building the murderer board that his father had built. "This is how my dad had his board before it was trashed."
"Any leads on who did that?" Jughead questioned. "And what they were looking for?"
"Nope. No fingerprints. But they stole a bunch of files, background checks...and all the video and audiotapes of police interviews."
The door suddenly opens, making all heads turn. A boy walked in, bright smile. "Hey, Betty.."
"Trev, hi!" Betty smiled back.
"Sorry to interrupt-"
"Oh, no...uh, it's okay. We're just, uh, working on..." Betty hesitated to explain what they were doing.
"On our murdered board," Jughead says.
After a second of silence, Trev spoke again. "Well, I just wanted to make sure we're still on for tomorrow?"
"Absolutely, it's a date. I mean, I'll...I'll see you there. Bye."
"Peace Out. See you," Trev smiled, walking out the door.
"Going into a date with Trev?" Kevin asked Betty. "Does Mama Cooper know about that?"
"Kev, I'm not on house arrest,"
"With your mother, I'm surprised she hasn't actually done it and brought one of those ankle monitors," Marcellus sarcastically commented, which caused them all to look at him. "What?" He asked.
"Okay, she's out of town at a Women In Journalism spa retreat," Betty admits. "Anyway, it's not a 'date' date."
"You just called it a date," Jughead says, as if he had to remind her. "You literally said, 'it's a date'."
"That's just my cover. Really, it's an intelligence gathering mission. We should focus on the one thing we have access to that you dad doesn't. The kids at Riverdale High. You know, maybe Trev knows something about Jason's he didn't think was important." -'ღ'-lιĸe ι cαɴ-'ღ'-
