scum reader's self saving system. (orv, joongdok)

Start from the beginning

before han sooyoung left that night, she had told him, "good luck with the protagonist." with that sly mocking smile of hers.

wow even the author didn't even believe in him.

-

han sooyoung was really lucky enough to possess the body of a side character who didn't even have that much roles which meant that her life was going to be peaceful unlike his.

after having a talk with the author that night, kim dokja had remembered about an important event which happened in the original novel and couldn't be avoided at all.

damn it.

kim dokja has the sudden urge to bang his head against the table. well, he was about to but he was fortunately interrupted.

"shizun?? what are you doing?!" yoo joonghyuk exclaimed, quickly dropping himself down to stop his master from banging his head on the table. "are you okay? were you about to faint?" he asked, worriedly.

wow, yoo joonghyuk really was like an angel who had descended from the sky. it only made kim dokja want to bang his head on the table even more.

his plans were all foiled now. even if the protagonist treated him nicely and was fond of him now, there's no way to guarantee his sunshine filled future anymore.

his life was over.

"shizun—"

"go."

"what?"

"leave me alone please." yoo joonghyuk was rather shocked to hear that. "but what about the food i cooked for you—"

"leave it in the kitchen. i want to be alone for a bit." hesitantly, yoo joonghyuk nodded his head and quietly left with a sad expression. before he completely left, he muttered a soft "goodnight then."

that night, kim dokja couldn't sleep at all and he couldn't stop cursing han sooyoung. the dinner that too joonghyuk had cooked had turned cold. it was completely forgotten and left alone in the kitchen.

-

"you don't look well, junior apprentice brother." lee hyunsung finally spoke up. "are you anxious?" he asked kim dokja who was currently anxiously staring at the holographic screen in front of them.

in the screen you could see many disciples fighting against monsters and yoo joonghyuk was one of them.

"i'm sure that he'd be fine. you even made a bet on him with my money." lee hyunsung actually didn't mind it. he was just joking to lighten up the mood a bit.

"that's not what i'm worried about." kim dokja sighed, slowly fanning his face.

"then, what is it?"

before kim dokja could even say anything, there was a shout.

"what?! those high grade monsters aren't supposed to be there??"

shit. it has already started.

kim dokja remembers this part of the novel very clearly. how could he not? it was one of the most crucial part of the novel. it was the reason why yoo joonghyuk became insanely powerful and it was the part where his hatred for the scum villian became worse.
