Cabin by the sea - Eridan x Reader

Eridan went out of the water, and got closer to you
You didn't notice because you were too busy swearing and leaning down cleaning

"hello"
You stood straight and turned to see him

"hi who- OH GOD YOU'RE THAT CREATURE"
he cringed at your yelling
"yes, I am a creature as you too"
He helped picking some litter too without saying a word
You watched
"wwerent you cleaning? Wwhy you stopped?"
"sorry I just-"
You blinked and studied his form
"I thought you didn't speak or, walk"

After some awkward silence you two started complaining about how humans littered the beach years ago and stuff
"I thought all humans wwere doing the same, but I learned that you're not like evveryone"
"thanks I suppose, we all share a planet and it's unfair to destroy our own home"
He nodded
That was the moment when you two became friends, you had same say of thinking

Nowadays you two became inseparable, sadly Eridan had some stuff to do at his home underwater so he became more busy, and your days more boring

Back to day of today

You woke up, and stretched. The first thought you had was that you had a meeting with your bestie
You stood up quickly but stumbled by the sudden move
You went to your bathroom, showered, brushed your teeth, got ready after it. You thought that Eridan would be all wet from coming out of the water, so you prepared the biggest shirt you had and some shorts, as well as a towel. You left his clothes inside and sat in your bench outside at the stairs leading down to the beach
Some minutes later you saw the familiar troll coming out of the water, with wet hair and clothes
You smiled and stood up
"hey!"

He jogged to your cabin and was about to walk upstairs when you stopped him
"hello (nickname)"
"wait, take a shower first"
He seemed offended but understood he was all soaked. You went inside the cabin as fast as you could and came back with the towel and the clothing in your hands, you ran downstairs and took his hand, leading him to the shower outside (beach houses have showers outside)
"take a shower, sea water tend to have like, much salt and you're all wet anyway, I'll borrow you this clothing so you can come inside, I don't want you to get my floor and furniture wet. Oh and, you can hang your clothes on the bench or on the stairs rail "
He took the clothing and towel, nodding. He took off his glasses and scarf, started getting undressed
"wait dummy wait until I leave!"
You laughed blushing a bit, he chuckled too

"I'll wait for you inside"
"Alright"
You ran upstairs again, and went inside, you cleaned your living room a bit and the kitchen was just fine

After some minutes you heard a knock at your door and you walked to it, opening for eridan
"come in"
You let him in, he walked inside and you closed the door
"did you hang your clothes outside?"
"yes boss"
You rolled your eyes and smiled, he is wearing the big shirt of yours, it was a tiedye design, and the shorts were tight on his waist, baggy on his legs.

"do you want to watch something? Play something?"
"hmm"
"we can play 20 questions"
"howw is that a game?"
"I know, it's just asking 20 questions but it's fun, you can ask something you don't know yet from me and I can do it as well"
"sounds better than nothing"
"alright let's get comfy"

You sat on your couch, and patted a spot next to you for Eridan, so he sat down with you
"who starts?"
"you?"
"fine.. hmmm.. Do you have a crush on someone?"
"wwhat is a crush"
"uhh.. I guess when you like someone in a romantic way"
"wwhat a boring question (y/n), oh wwell, I do havve a crush on someone"
"ooooh juicy, you're next "

You smiled teasingly
"same question"
"yes, I like someone too"
He seemed interested
"hmmm.. are you gay?"
"wwhat does gay mean"
You giggled at his ignorance

"oh, I guess I'm not gay then. In my culture gay isn't an actual thing, both genders like both genders"

It was interesting for real, eridan reversed your question again
"are you gay?"

You grinned mischievously

You laughed, you couldn't resist it, you love that song

Your friendly joke turned against you, you shyly smiled to Eridan

"oh, I love you too Eridan, you're my best friend, you've always been"
Eridan frowned a bit looking down, he remembered the whole situation with his ex moirail feferi

"are you okay?"
He looked up at you and smiled like nothing
"yeah, but I really wwant to ask, you see me only as a friend?"
You thought for a second and understood what was going on
You loved him but never thought of him as a boyfriend.. You just purely loved him for who he was and how he cared for you
Maybe it wouldnt change your relationship with him if you two started dating

He brought you back to earth from your thoughts. It's time. It's time to tell him. He was nervously resting his hands on his bare knees looking at you.
"well.. I thought you were gay-"

He is surprised by your response and facepalmed

He listened to you in silence

You blushed hard

You covered your face
But he smiled tenderly, he took your hands from your face and spoke
"please don't covver your face, you're beautiful.. So this is official noww?"
"yes, this is official"

He leaned his back on the couch and opened his arms to you
You understood the assignment and cuddled on his chest
"wwe havve done this many times before but it feels better noww, and let's nevver play that game again, it's boring as hell"
"shhh let's watch silly Japanese game shows"
"wwhats a Japanese"
You sighed
"you will see soon, i think you will like it"
You slapped softly his knee playfully, you grabbed the TV remote opening YouTube, picking some Japanese slippery stairs TV show

You both spent all the noon and night together watching TV, had dinner together, you taught him how to play uno, and he loved it, etcetera. Hours passed in a blink with him.
