Okay, so last night I met up with a friend on Instagram who told me information about the psychonauts fandom having a much darker side than what's on the surface. So I'll give some context about the whole situation first

My friend made a joke ship called "Razchet" which consists of Raz and Ratchet from Psychonauts and Ratchet and Clank respectively (nothing lewd was going on, just edits) and what happened is someone actually thought they were shipping it seriously and then started to go off on them in their DMs and was insulting them, cussing them out, and blocking them. Y'know, "mature" behavior. Here's the DMs

"It's still very weird" well no shit, its a crack ship. It's supposed to be weird like every other. I find it ironic that the Psychonauts fandom brands themselves as a "non-toxic, anti-harassment" zone, but once something ever so slightly offensive pops up, they go into your DMs and start cussing like a sailor and insult you. Do people have a sense of humor for dark or offensive things anymore? Here's another screenshot of someone else harassing them.

Let me remind you that my friend is a MINOR and these people are GROWN ASS ADULTS saying this insane shit to them. These people claim they're protecting children and they go back and harass a child over a JOKE. If these people care about protecting children so much, why are they harassing them?
This just goes to show that people who say "I'm against offensive content that could harm children" and go and do this shit just say that for ego rubbing and brownie points. These people don't care about child protection, they only care about the fictional character.
And there are other ways to protect children, like telling your followers that "Hey, a child in my area has gone missing and I'd appreciate your help to find them before something bad happens to them." Or tell people to sign a petition to take down that disgusting pedo movie "Cuties" or help hunt down Ezra Miller, Dan Schneider and hold them accountable for grooming children and ruining their lives.
If you are so offended by offensive content like this, then be a mature adult and block and ignore the person. Not go into their DMs and start going off on them.
And from what I've seen, usually people who do this sorta thing tend to be pedos themselves and just do all this crazy shit just to hide their true nature. (I'm not saying that they are pedophiles, but their actions are definitely not helping their case) or maybe they're just sensitive wet napkins that can't handle jokes.

My friend also added that whenever there's like gore content or horror posted (most likely specifically on Instagram, Twitter and possibly Tunblr. I've never been harassed for making gore or horror, for now...) apparently people get their panties in a bunch and start harassing people over that too. As someone who makes gore and horror to cope with mental illness, I find this very troubling. If Psychonauts is a game about helping people with their mental illnesses, then why do people bitch about someone making dark content. I think that people are trying to preserve the wholesome parts of the game and characters to the point where it becomes unhealthy and toxic.
Anyways, I'm done here. I want to hear your opinions on all this.
