"I don't know! Whatever, I have to go to the field, the third-year managers won't be happy if I'm late." You say goodbye to the person you were talking to before going out of the room, only jumping back in surprise when you almost bump into Kataoka
"Dude, what the hell?" You ask him incredulously, "-Wait were you listening to my call?!" You ask loudly as Kataoka panics
"I didn't mean to! I was just looking for you so we can go to the field together!" He answers defensively
"What part did you hear? Oh no!" Kataoka can see that you were visibly panicking
"Uh..." Kataoka tries to think of a possible answer, how can he say he heard a lot but he still couldn't understand what it meant
"Whatever, it's now or never." You take a deep breath as you take a look at Kataoka before hiding your face behind your hands, "I wanted to do it later though," He hears you grumble under your breath. Kataoka continues to watch you remove your hands from your face and slap your cheeks lightly before looking back at him, with a look of determination on your face
"I like you." You say seriously, feeling the heat creep up to your cheeks
Kataoka remains frozen, and you take that as a cue to leave. While he was still frozen in his place, you move to the side and make a run to the Baseball club
"Why me?!" You were using all of your willpower to stop yourself from hitting your head on the wall
But whatever you do, it was already out and the only thing you need was Kataoka's response to your feelings

"You know ignoring him, won't do you anything, right?" Your friend comments, watching as you hide away from Kataoka. It was hard since you two were in the same class and team, but so far you haven't talked to him for a week!
"It prolongs the pending rejection." You comment absentmindedly as your friend rolls their eyes
"And that's supposed to be better? Besides, he's not going to reject you." They shake their head at you, the guy only has a few interests, one was Baseball and the other one was obviously you
"No, but I don't think I'm ready for it yet." You sigh, turning to look at your friend only to be faced by Kataoka
You look behind him to see your friend waving at you, "I love you and all, but really, just talk things out. The sexual tensions' too much for me!" Your friend says before running off, leaving you to fend for yourself
"Wha-how long have you been there?" You demand, returning your attention to Kataoka who was watching your movements
"I only came here, I want to talk to you." He answers calmly, although there was nothing calm about the way his heart was beating. The calmness was just a facade he hopes you don't see through
"About what?" You could feel your stomach drop at the nervousness
"About what you said the other week," Kataoka still remains serious, "You didn't give me a chance to answer you."
"Will I like your answer?" You couldn't help yourself from asking as he shrugs
"I don't know. But-" He stops, closes his eyes, and takes a deep breath before looking at you once more, "I like you too."
Everything around you freezes as you stare at him, was he serious? He's not just saying that since you two were friends, right?
"Really?"
"Yeah, I think I have for a while." He says quietly as if he didn't want you to hear him
"You have?" You once again ask in disbelief
