"Portal to Yesterday"

When I look at those old photographs,
I trip down to the memory lane,
Nostalgia and sadness, from smile to tears.
Oh, melancholy darkness, avert from me.
Sinking heart, raise up at the surface.
Don't drown in the ocean of regret.

When I reminisce on the past,
I walk on the hallway of broken dreams,
Gargoyles placed on my shoulder, they weigh
Oh, so hard to carry the burden of sins
These knees on fire, I can't breathe, Watery depths, threatening to suffocate me.

Old photographs of golden years,
A portal of time travel, a way to go back,
to confront again serene and fond times.
Old friends, departed ones, and lovers of their time.
Magically passed, doesn't happen twice. Circle of emotion, don't trap me in illusion.

When I ponder if you still remember,
I also wonder where are you now?
I miss you as the moon misses the sun. But a solitary road is our destiny,
and we meet only once.
Though you move forward on your own,
leaving the old photographs behind,
Don't forget the memories we bind.
