Chapter 10- Lazy Day

Start from the beginning

I giggled and turned to him. "We're all alone."

"Yeah, for once in our lives," Robin muttered.

I laughed. "Hey, they're our teammates. Leave them alone."

He chuckled and pulled me close to him as we sat on the couch. "You're right, as always."

I smirked smugly and nodded. "Hey, we should put a movie in."

"What type?" he questioned, getting up and heading to the cabinet.

"Romantic. Or romantic comedy. Or just something romantic," I smiled cheekily.

"You cheese ball. You're feeling sappy today, aren't you?" Robin questioned. I nodded, smiling. He groaned playfully, rolling his eyes before choosing a movie and putting it in. He came back and wrapped an arm around me and I snuggled into him.

It was a pretty sappy movie called "The Longest Ride," and it was fantastic. Plus, we cuddled and ate popcorn and it was great.

When it was over I kissed his cheek and went to go make spaghetti and meatballs on the side for dinner. Robin followed me in and we made dinner together.

He was constantly touching me in some way, holding my waist, my hand, playing with my hair. The movie must've made him sappy. It was actually really cute.

He was being lovey throughout dinner too, holding my hand on the table as we ate, using his other hand to eat. It was silly, but sweet.

When dinner was done, he helped me clean up (as did the others), and we all went to the common room to watch some TV. Robin and I cuddled on the couch, the other four spread out around us. Beast Boy was beside me as a cat, Raven and Starfire were sitting in front of the couch and Cyborg was sitting on the other side of Robin.

We were having family time and it was really cute. Oh geez, I think the movie made me pretty sappy too...

After a while, we all went our separate ways and went to bed. After changing and getting ready to go to sleep, Robin joined me in my room and we cuddled again, trying to fall asleep.

Robin broke the silence. "Nyx, have you ever, you know... sung?"

I raised an eyebrow and looked at him. "Like sung a song? Yes, in fact, I have. I don't think I'm that great but if you want me to sing to you, I can." He nodded, smiling slightly. I had to think of a song before clearing my throat and began to sing.

I guess you really did it this time
Left yourself in your warpath
Lost your balance on a tightrope
Lost your mind tryin' to get it back

Wasn't it easier in your lunchbox days?
Always a bigger bed to crawl into
Wasn't it beautiful when you believed in everything
And everybody believed in you?

It's alright, just wait and see
Your string of lights is still bright to me
Oh, who you are is not where you've been.
You're still an innocent,
You're still an innocent.

Did some things you can't speak of
But at night you live it all again
You wouldn't be shattered on the floor now
If only you had seen what you know now then

Wasn't it easier in your firefly-catchin' days?
When everything out of reach, someone bigger brought down to you
Wasn't it beautiful runnin' wild 'til you fell asleep
Before the monsters caught up to you?

It's alright, just wait and see
Your string of lights is still bright to me
Oh, who you are is not what you've been
You're still an innocent

It's okay, life is a tough crowd
32, and still growin' up now
Who you are is not what you did.
You're still an innocent.

Time turns flames to embers
You'll have new Septembers
Every one of us has messed up too

Minds change like the weather
I hope you remember
Today is never too late to be brand new

It's alright, just wait and see
Your string of lights is still bright to me
Oh, who you are is not what you've been
You're still an innocent.

It's okay, life is a tough crowd
32, and still growin' up now
Who you are is not what you did
You're still an innocent.
You're still an innocent.

Lost your balance on a tightrope.
It's never too late to get it back.

Robin smiled at me and nuzzled his face into my neck. "That was amazing. You're so good at everything you do."

I giggled. "I couldn't do it without you. You're the inspiration and I'm the muse."

We both laughed at that one.

"I love you, you know that, right?" Robin questioned.

I nodded, "And I love you too. "

He leaned down and kissed me, and it might have just been the best before-sleep kisses I've ever had.
