Chapter 11:

I woke up at some ungodly hour in the morning after finally falling asleep. Hospital plush chairs aren't exactly comfortable to sleep in.

Probably out of sympathy, the hospital staff allowed me to stay over night in Zacky's room, just as long as I kept the door open for the night time staff to routinely check up, and that I only stayed to sleep as I waited for Zacky to come around.

I wanted to see him as soon as he woke up; no one else. I knew that the guys had already seen him before the drugs knocked him out, so they were understanding when I refused to leave. Gena tried to stay also, but since she wasn't Zacky's girlfriend, she had to leave.

Serves her right.

I shifted as quietly as possible in my seat in an attempt to get more comfortable, but it was a nearly impossible task. The navy blue chair was too hard, but it beat anxiously waiting at my house to hear news about Zacky. Being front row right next to his bed was worth not getting a good nights sleep.

I gave up on sleep and looked over at Zacky, who was still sleeping away. The moonlight from the window shone lightly across his face, making his more prominent features appear more visible. His lip ring, black hair, long eyelashes, and his nose. I missed seeing his eyes and hearing his voice, though.

Sighing, I laid my head down on the chair and closed my eyes and concentrated on the rhythm of Zacky's heart monitor.

I must've dozed off for a while, because I woke up to feeling a hand gently brush my hair out of my face and caress the side of my head.

I knew that it was either Matt or Jimmy, so I kept my tired eyes closed and let the comforting sensation continue.

"Anna," I heard someone hoarsely whisper.

I cracked open my eyes, expecting to see Matt or Jimmy, but instead I saw the rest of the room, still darkened by the night time sky.

I moved my head back to follow the arm, which was connected to Zacky. A quiet gasp escaped my mouth when my eyes finally met his green ones.

A small smile was on his lips as we made eye contact. I could tell he was still tired and that he didn't feel too well, but as long as he was awake, that's all that really mattered.

I immediately stood up and leaned over the bed to gently hold him as he wrapped his arms around me. He was weak, but it felt so nice to be back in his embrace.

"You're here." he whispered.

I nodded as relief washed over me, knowing that he was okay and awake.

"I missed you so much." I whispered, but it was rather muffled, since my head was buried in the crook of his neck.

But luckily, he understood what I said and replied, "I missed you too."

I heard his heart monitor beep slightly quicker, so I jumped away, thinking I was laying on a cord or something, making Zacky chuckle lightly.

"What? I think I was sitting on a cord." I said.

"You weren't laying on a cord. It's faster because I'm awake." he explained with a smile. "Plus, you're here."

I chuckled and stood up from the bed and walked to the doorway. A nurse walked by, so I stopped her and told her Zacky was awake.

*Two days later*

I locked my front door and walked down the steps towards my car, trying to hurry as quickly as I could. I was about fifteen minutes late to heading to the studio, all because I overslept.
