Our little dating façade took its play soon as we were in the food court. Apparently, our hands entwined weren’t sign enough for a few girls walked up to Jade. They introduced themselves to him like I didn’t exist. I may not have much experience around guys but I knew enough to tell that they were flirting with him. He tried to play it nice but soon, as more girls came up to him, his patience had burned. I kept silent as he turned them down saying that he already liked someone or he’s already taken. I tried not to blush as he glanced at me whenever he said that, as if he was asking for my permission. Every time he did so though, the girls would glare at me. I tried to smile at them as mockingly as I could—just for the entertainment of it.

It was almost a relief to finish our meal. My first day starts tomorrow so Jade advised that we explore the place although I have a feeling that he had already mastered the whole campus as he pulled me alongside of him. We treaded the places he seemed to know so well. Jade told me that we were only allowed to go out of campus premises every weekend. I frowned at that.

“I guess I’ll get enough of Earnshaw Academy, then.” I had muttered contemptuously.

Jade had laughed. “Well, it’s a classy school after all.”

We spent the rest of the day strolling the fields. With not many people around, we decided to respite from our façade. I laid on the green grass, feeling its softness at my back while he sat beside me, his elbows resting on his knees.

I looked up at the cloudless sky, squinting at the blinding sun. “What agency are you from?” I asked, making small talk. It took him a minute to answer.

“I can’t tell you.” He said simply.

I peered at him but he was looking around, left and right, probably scanning the place. He was my bodyguard after all. “Top secret?” I guessed.

“Not really. I just can’t tell you.” He smirked down at me then looked around again.

“Then how’d you met my father?” I asked curiously.

His expression turned unfathomable. “Long story.” He muttered.

“I’ve time.” I said expectantly.

“Long story.” He repeated.

“Top secret?” I queried.

“Top secret.”

I sighed. Are all things about him top secret? At least I know he liked Tootsie-Roll and Aerosmith. A thought occurred to me. “Do you like older women?”

His brows furrowed but he didn’t look at me. “Why do you ask?”

“Just answer.” I commanded.

To my surprise, he complied.  “No. Why?” He looked down at me inquisitively.

“I just thought that you and Lauren…” I trailed off, wiggling my eyebrows suggestively.
