03 Goons and First Practises

Start from the beginning

"What? Guy I can't understand you." I tell him.

"Dee?"

"Guy?"

"I-I C... cant't...."

"Listen, head to the lake. You can tell me there."

"What?"

"The lake! Head to the lake!" I command.

"We should-... m... the lake, yeah?"

"That's what I said!"

"What?"

"Yes! The lake!" I switch it off, grab my bag and my ice skates before heading out. I see my dad coming up the drive.

"Delilah. I need to talk to you." He states but I just ignore him and flip him off. "Get back here young lady!"

As I was walking I see Adam Banks come skating back towards his house. "Banks! Hey stop!"

Adam stops right in front of me. "Yeah, Bombay?"

"What did you do?" I ask him bitterly.

He gulps, "What do you mean?"

"My guys just told me something about seeing the Hawks, and telling by your face it was your fault and I'm guessing those two goons you hang around with as well. So what'd you do?" I repeat.

"It wasn't my fault, I swear. I just stood back. It was Aiden and Alex, not me." He informs me.

"Aiden and Alex?" I tilt my head to the side in confusion.

"Larson and McGill." He answers. "The two goons."

I laugh lightly, "Right."

"Yeah, they are goons aren't they?" He mutters.

"I never lie." I simply shrug.

"You're not that bad, Bombay." Adam admits.

"Neither are you, Banks." I reply.

"Really?"

"Like I said, I never lie." I remind him, "Unless its for sarcastic reasons."

I start to walk away before Adam calls to me. "Hey Bombay?"

"Yeah?" I turn around.

"I heard what my coach spoke to you about after the game." I nod my head in understanding. "Don't change who you are for popularity or to win. Its not worth it."

"I wouldn't dream of it." I smile and walk off. "Oh and Banks? Tell your goons to back off my boys or they'll regret it!"

"Will do!" He calls.

Well that took an unexpected turn...

"Then Fulton Reed came up behind them and just chucked 'em in a pile of trash!" Charlie finishes explaining the encounter they had with the Hawks.

"Fulton Reed? As in the wannabe football star?" I ask bewildered.

"Yeah!" They all chorus.

"Damn."

"I know right." Guy nods.

"And Adam just stood back, right?" I check.

"Yeah, it was really weird." Peter confirms.

"Why do you care anyway?" Jesse asks.
