I felt them. The eyes watching me. They all were looking, staring, devouring me with their eyes. I was scared. I always walked home this way but never alone. Today was different. I was all alone except for the things. I looked around again hoping to see a bunch of my friends laughing, hoping it was all a funny joke to laugh at later. I hated this part of the walk. The part of the alley where you couldn't see anything. I took my phone out and turned the flashlight on. I chose to ignore the feeling of them watching me. I walked down the alley hoping nothing would happen. A heard footsteps approaching behind me and spun around. No one. I heard a thump behind me and spun around again. A mangled dead animal must have fallen from the roof. It smelled of rot. The stench was so putrid I had to look away. When I looked back I stepped a little closer and looked at it for a bit. It had matted brown fur with striped or some type of markings on it. The animal seemed to be a cat that had its throat torn out. I grimaced at the sight. I stepped around the animal and heard someone running up on me from behind. I looked back and shone the light down the alley. The animal was gone. I smelled something worse than the smell of the animal. This smelled like death itself. I turned around and ran towards the end of the alley and heard footsteps getting louder and louder but chose to ignore them this time. It grabbed me from behind me and bit into my shoulder. I let out a scream as I fell to the ground. My phone fell to the ground with the light facing up. It was a pitch-black thing with long arms and legs. It didn't have eyes and the teeth on it looked like daggers. There seemed to be no hair anywhere but I didn't get long to study it. The thing tackled me and bit into my shoulder again. I screamed and pried its teeth off of me. It looked at me as if it had eyes and let out a low growl. I punched it in the face and started running towards the end of the alley. I cried for help as loud as I could but somehow the creature roared even louder and drowned out my screams. I ran as fast as I could but it was still on my tail. I was in full blown sprint and decided to look back. Big mistake. I looked forwards right as I tripped over a missing piece of concrete. I landed on the ground and the creature jumped on top of me and started ripping me to shreds. I screamed but no one came. I had never felt such pain in my entire life. I was being skinned alive and the thing relished my pain. The last thing I saw before I closed my eyes was The creature smiling at its new skin suit and putting it over its own skin. Then, my eyes closed.
