BestFriend!Harry

Harry kept pulling on your hand, and you can feel the bit of tug and pull creeping up your wrist, but not with pain, but with notice. You let Harry know that you would prefer to keep the hand attached to the arm, and Harry just gives off a sheepish smile before dropping your hand and moving from in front of you to your side. He syncs up his walking with yours until your footsteps are in the same tempo on the cobblestone of the town. "I don't get the big deal, we used to sneak treats all the time at the bakery back home," you comment, and you could almost feel the sugary glaze still lingering on your tongue from years ago. Harry would charm his way into a discount with the old ladies running the business, but would never let them give him anything for free. "It's worth it, I promise," Harry encourages, leading you more and more through winding pathways. You pause to admire the architecture a few times, but can't ignore the grueling Italian sun beating on your back. The clouds had cleared from the sky, too afraid to even come to battle with it. "How much longer?" You drawl out in a whine, starting to drag your feet, causing Harry to be in the lead again, "The sun has a vendetta against me." Harry rolls his eyes and lets out a laugh, one that hasn't changed since he was in primary school. He presses his lips together after running over them with his tongue, eyes scanning the scene in front of him and you. His face breaks out into a grin, pointing out the hole-in-the-wall bakery that could be missed if you both were standing at the opposite angle. "There!" He called out, running toward it and trying to get you to run alongside him. But, when he realized you were not up for that idea, he slowed his spring to a fast walk and made his way with you.

Opening the door and stepping inside offers some relief from the heat, but not a lot. "Close your eyes, and smell," Harry tells you before both feet were in the door. "But I'll trip," you hit back at him, and he shakes his head with a smile. "You won't," he reassures. "Fine," you agree, letting your eyes close once you bring your other foot over the threshold, sighing as you let all the air in your lungs out. Then, you take the biggest inhale you can, and all of your senses are overtaken by the fresh and the decadent. You twinge up your nose and smile big, opening your eyes back up to meet Harry's, who nodded excitedly at you. "Well, go! Order something!" you jump around a little impatiently, pushing at his back. Harry puts his hands up in defense and grumbles, but loud enough for you to pick up on, "I'm going, I'm going! Bossy little bugger!" Your mouth falls open and your eyebrows pull together, crossing your arms as you squint at your best friend. "I heard that!"

"I can't believe you got one of everything," you laugh out of amazement, rummaging through the stack of confectionary baskets balanced on the small round table you both sat at. It was right outside the bakery, the whole area tucked between the buildings in a narrow entryway and exit, but wide enough to stand two, maybe three, people side by side. "It's called sampling," he grins, grabbing one of the strawberry pastries and taking a big bite, letting his eyes roll back into his head for a second or two. Powdered sugar falls from the top and gathers at each corner of his lips, and you cover your mouth with your hand, but Harry could instantly tell you were smiling. "What?" he asks with a full mouth of fresh strawberry preserves, and you shake your head. "Nothing, nothing," you brush off, removing your hand from in front of your mouth. You pause, grab the remaining bit of the pastry from Harry's hands, and take a bite. You look down at the treat as you chew, swallowing down the serving before smiling at him.
