So my AUs Muffet is well.... A human eating addict! She is a mother of a bunch of spider hatchlings who need food, and so she tried to sell pastries to afford food. This small business failed, leading to both her and her growing children starving. So she tried to eat a natural spider's diet, which was nothing but bugs. This, however, did not fully satisfy her children's hunger. Desperate to feed both herself and her precious offspring, she started to hunt down the humans (My AU takes place on the surface before the monsters got locked away in MT. Ebott) and feed them to her beloved children. She too began to feed off of human flesh, which resulted in her forming a highly addictive diet on nothing but the flesh of a human. She still eats bugs every now and then, but her main prey is the wandering humans that just so happen to pass by her.
