Chapter 17

Kaylee's P.O.V

Everything was like a fairytale.

And I loved it.

From the dancing, to the champagne, to the talking, to all the ladies and gents who were all dressed elegantly. And right now, the big dance had started. Chase's Dad and his Step-Mum took to the floor. Chase's Dad bowed and his Step-Mum curtseyed. They then began the dance everyone would have to follow.

I paid attention to each and every minor step and move so I would know what to do. The couple moved so elegantly together. They were perfectly in sync with the music and each other. The love they held for each other was clear by the way they held their lovestruck gaze for the whole dance.

"Well, we're on" Capt took my hand as he led me to the floor. Other couples joined us. Capt smirked as he bowed and I curtseyed, the music already playing.

"Hope you know how to dance" I met his eyes as we both held out our right hands, his left one behind his back, mine holding my dress. We touched our palms together as we slowly walked in a circle, my left hand by my side.

"I picked up a few things" We switched hands, walking around the other way.

"Last time I checked you couldn't dance" I laugh as we lower our hands and his right hand rests on the left side of my waist as his left goes behind his back.

"Well, I maybe took lessons for this occasion" He admits as we sway right then left twice.

"Awh, you didn't need to Capt. I would've been fine not joining in" I admit as Capt slowly spins us.

"But I wanted to. Didn't want to make you look like a fool" He smiles as we then sway left to right twice.

"Well, that's very sweet" I acknowledge as he slowly spins us in the other direction.

"Well, everything for my Kaz" He smiles sweetly as he spins me outwards. He switches his hands so his left hand is now resting on the right side of my waist.

"I missed you.....a lot" I confess as he spins me owards again, switching his hands around again.

"As did I" He smiles as he lifts his right hand and catches the back of my hand. He lowers it, then lifts it again so my hand was in his. He spins me around, my dress twirling with me.

He pulls me closer as I rest my right upper arm on his chest, the tips of my fingers lightly resting on his jaw. His left arm rests on my waist again as we sway from side to side as we travel in a circle, following the other couples.

"This is actually quite fun" I smile as he spins me outwards, his hand dropping from my waist. As I come to face him again, his right arm rests on my waist.

"I agree" I rest my left upper arm on his chest, the tips of my fingers once again resting lightly on his jaw. We sway from side to side again in a circle.

"You heard anything from the castle?" I ask as he spins me again, his arm letting go of my waist.

"Not yet. Which is good" He replies as I face him again. We step closer and my left hand rests on his shoulder as his right hand rests just below my shoulder on my back. His left hand clasps my right hand as we travel over the floor. I tilt my head back and to the side slightly to give off a good posture.

"I second that" I say as he spins me around. He then comes up behind me and rests his right hand on my waist, his arm resting on my back. I place my left hand over his and we clasp our other hands together, my arm resting over his chest.

"You do realise we'll have to swap after this dance" He whispers in my ear as we glide across the floor like all the other couples were.

"Ah, fūck" I groan as we sway from side to side. Capt chuckles as he spins me again. We go back to the proper ballroom dancing position as we step across the floor. He spins me once again before we freeze in the position briefly.

We then start moving over the floor again. As we spin, Capt easily picks me off my feet gently, not far off the floor, for a few seconds before I land again.

"It's the lifts already?" I groan as he repeats the lift again.

"Here's the big one" He smirks as his hands go to my waist and effortlessly lifts me up higher of the floor as he turns around. He places me on the ground again and we carry on. He lifts me again and sets me on the ground.

"It's come to an end" Capt is still smirking as we touch palms whilst walking around in a circle.

"Kill me now" I reply as my left hand and his right hand clasp together. He turns me to the right slightly as our other hands connect, making my left hand go above our heads. Capt dips me, before pulling me upwards. We spin until we are back to back.

I see other men quickly stepping to the side to their next partner. I pray that I have someone I know as the music changes. I spot a few familiar faces from the crowd as all the men switch. Scanning, I see Finn and Luca quite close. I turn around and I relax when I see Theo in front of me.

"Thank fūck it's you" I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"I'm gald its you too" Theo smiles as he bows and I curtsy.

"You looked so tense though" Theo chuckles as we touch palms and walk in a circle.

"Well, a pedo could've been standing behind me waiting to dance with me" I reply as we change hands and walk in the opposite direction. Theo lets out a heartly laugh as we embrace each other into the hold. We follow the crowd as we skillfully make our way over the wooden floor. We did a few turns and lifts successfully as we came to the end of the dance.

"Well, bye and good luck" Theo says as he spins me on last time before we are back to back. I tense up again whilst I await my new partner. The orchestra decides to slow down the music and I groan in my head. I suck in a deep breath and turn around. The breath comes out staggered as I come face to face with
