Attakai stares at herself in the mirror. The mirror reveals a frail kid. Only ten years old, and taking after her father. She slips on a black leather jacket that is so large it swallows her, and she runs her fingers through tangled red hair. The dyed blue tips are her favorite thing about herself. She's rough looking compared to the friend standing next to her, Lils: whose skin sparkled from those spray on glitters you can buy at the mall. She shares Attakai's red hair, except hers is longer, neater, and much more well cared for.

They had been promised a night out, and like many preteen girls- they enjoyed shopping. The caveat being that they were too poor for the mall and usually ending up either borrowing things from it's stores or dumpster shopping. It's a term they came up with, that sounds quite a bit nicer than dumpster diving.

See, Magne was determined to take the girls out, despite their financial situation. And tonight she sports a nice pink blouse and a fancy pair of sunshades. Despite being dresses so cheerful, her expression is far from as she enters the room.

"Mama, what's wrong?" Lils asks, she notices something wrong the second her mother walks in the room.

"Everything will be okay. Mama will be okay." Magne says, not giving Lils a clear answer. "Hide. Don't make a sound. The heroes are coming. I love you." She kisses her daughter's head, before giving a hug to Attakai. "You too, Kai. You were like a second daughter to me."

"Where's my dad?" Attakai starts to ask, but Magne has already walked out in a panic.

The heroes ruin everything. They always do. This is about the only thought Attakai had time to think before snapping out of her thoughts and having enough common sense to listen to Magne's instructions.

Lilith quickly hides under a desk in the corner. Unsure of where to go, Attakai goes straight to the closet. And soon, she hears footsteps trailing down the hall, along with the voices connected to them.

"Maybe they don't have any hostages? I mean, the league hasn't been very active in the past few years." It's a male voice who sounds genuinely happy about the possibility of finding no victims. He sounds like someone who smiles often.

"I believe we only have two rooms left to check." A monotone voice replies. The voices get closer and closer, until they step right into the room the girls are hiding in.

Attakai considerds finding them before they find her, and picking a fight. She's fiery, yet frozen in fear. Plus, if she were to pick a fight, they'd find her. It's something she doesn't want. She quickly messes up any plans of staying in hiding by slightly moving. But, a slight movement is all it takes for a shoebox to come tumbling down. Two sets of feet cautiously and quickly rush to the closet she's in.

A freckled young man, about the age of twenty, opens the closet door and crouches down to her eye level. He pulls down his mask, making his warm smile visible. She recognizes him, anyone would. Deku was a top hero.

"Hey, it's okay, kiddo. The heroes are here! We're gonna save you."

Attakai didn't know how the hell him being a hero is supposed to make her feel any better. It makes her feel worse, and less safe than before. But her fear is easily hidden behind the amount of fight she has in her.

"I don't need saving. You aren't doing anything to help me. All you do is arrest people who have families!"

"Um well, we arrest people who do bad things." Deku replies, he looks puzzled.

"I don't wanna go to jail!" She cries out, the fear behind her fight showing as she falls back, her arm lighting up in flames.

Deku jumps back, his green eyes widen. "Hey, Shoto? Can you come here for a sec?" He asked as he stepping back away, letting his partner handle anything to do with fire.
