"[Can we meet?]"

I immediately woke up in bed when I heard that familiar voice on the other line. I was sleeping when I suddenly woke up to the sound of my cell phone signaling that someone was calling.

Inaantok na nilayo ko 'yung phone sa tenga para makita 'yung tumawag sa'kin even though I already have a hint of who is it...

... My eyes automatically rolled up when I saw the name on the screen.

I knew it.

"[Are you still there?]" She talked again in a low tone. Agad kong nilapit ang phone sa tenga.

"Y-Yes?"I swallowed the lump in my throat.

She went silent for a while after that. I can't help but wonder because it's almost two in the morning yet, she's calling.

Is there a problem?

"[I was asking you..]" Napakunot noo ako nang makarinig na parang may mga tunog ng kotse sa linya niya."[Can we meet?]"

"What? Why? Masyado ng malalim ang gabi, Layren." I replied seriously as I walked towards the kitchen to get a glass of water.

I heard she laughed on the other line."[Don't worry. I'm already here in front of your building-]"
