I was walking down a path to an area my uncle told me to go to. I came up to a sign that said "Lucario Sanctuary. Please continue with caution." I pulled out my phone and called my uncle putting him on speaker. "Hello?" I heard him say. "Hey uncle! I'm at a sign. Do I continue or stop?" I asked. "Just continue! I told the big dog that your coming! He can't wait to meet you!" He said. I was hesitant when he said "He" cause I didn't really feel comfortable around male Pokémon without someone I trust nearby. "O-Ok..." I said and we hung up. I continued walking, looking around a bit hesitantly because I didn't know if I was gonna get jumped by a pokemon or not. I heard a twig break and I stopped and my heart started pounding. "H-Hello?" I called out. "What are you doing here..?" A gruffly voice asked. "I was sent by my uncle... He told me to come this way to check on things..." I said a bit scared. "So your Jackson's niece?" The voice asked and I nodded. "Y-Yes..." I heard a branch break and saw something land on the ground but I couldn't see it properly due to it being behind the tree's and the shadows covering it. It slowly stood up and started walking towards me. It looked a good 2 feet taller then me, which made me feel really small. When I could finally see it I could make out small details. It's chest spike had the tip chipped off, as though it got into a fight. A long scar going from the bottom of its ear, over its eye, and to its mouth. There was also a bit of it's ear gone but only a little bit at the tip. It stood in front of me with it's arms crossed looking over me. "I wouldn't of expected you to be that short..." it said and I made a pouting face. "I ain't short!" I said loudly in defense but I stepped back scared as soon as it let its arms fall to its sides and its right ear twitched. "Y-Your just really tall..." I said a bit quieter. It then shrugged and started to turn and motioned for me to follow it. "I guess while your here I should show you around." It said. So I followed it till we came up to a clearing with what looked like huts. I looked amazed as I couldn't believe I was actually seeing how a Lucario pack would be. I stood beside the about 7 foot Lucario as I looked around the clearing. I slowly looked up at it and it glanced at me with a curious look. "You seem to be on edge..." It said and I looked at the ground. "Uh yea... I'm just not used to being around male pokemon all that much..." I said stepping to my right a little bit creating a short distance a little. It smirked a little and leaned down to whisper into my ear. "What you think one of them are going to rape you~?" It asked. I tensed up with tears forming in my eyes. I couldn't say a word due to my nerves nearly crashing from the question. It looked at me curious and chuckled a little. "I was joking. Some of the Lucario here don't even trust humans all that much. Me on the other hand... Since I am the alpha... I gotta meet with some humans that help keep us safe from hunters or rogue pokemon who want to kill us. It's not that common something like that happens. But if it does at least we know we aren't alone in the fight." It said and I just looked at it a bit amazed. But something tugged at me... Alpha... That meant... He was the leader of the pack. That only got me more nervous. What if I say something to offend him? What if- "You seem really tense... Is everything alright?" He asked and I nodded slightly. "Y-Yes sir!" I said trying to sound as kind as possible. He only laughed and I looked at him curiously. "That's the first someone called me that. Please, just call me Haikou." He said and I gulped slightly and quietly and nodded. He then led me to where I guess he goes to speak to whoever checks on things for them. He started explaining that their food source was doing good so far. He also said that there was a rogue Pokémon attack but they were able to deal with it just fine, and that no one got severely hurt. I sighed at that. I might've been jumpy around Pokémon, but I never want one to get hurt! "So are you a trainer?" He asked and I looked him in the eyes and then looked at the ground. "No, not really. I'd rather be a friend towards Pokémon then capture them and battle. I don't see the point of keeping a Pokémon cooped up in some pokeball and making them battle till they can't stand. I just don't. I'd rather be like my uncle. Run a Pokémon sanctuary to help Pokémon who are in danger!" I said cheerfully. He seemed almost amazed at what I said. "You know... Your the first human in a long time I've met that didn't want to be a trainer." He said smiling and I smiled back feeling a bit more safe. I then looked at the sky. "Is it odd that someone dreams about life as a Pokémon...? Wanting to live like that Pokémon...?" I asked and he seemed to be confused. "How so?" He asked and I giggled. "I dream every night how it would be in the footsteps of a Lucario... Lucario's are my favorite Pokémon after all! I just dream how life would be. Running around. Feeling free. Not having to worry about too much violence. Better than being a human..." I said my voice trailing off at the end. "Well I've never heard of a human being a Lucario before..." He said and I giggled which caught him by surprise. "It's just some odd fantasy I have! My mom says I need to get my head out the clouds half the time." I said and Haikou just looked at me impressed. "Well I don't see anything wrong with daydreaming half the time. You do it to get away from your real life don't you?" He asked and I nodded. "Yea! I've always been bullied because others see me as the weirdo who shouldn't even exist... But one day I'll make them all take it back! Imma make this world a much better place!" I said and Haikou howled with laughter which scared me at first, because he actually howled at first then started laughing. When he quit laughing he looked at me and I just looked at the ground. 'He thinks the same about me now... Doesn't he..?' I thought. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to laugh. It's just interesting to meet a human who is as kind as you." He said and I looked at him in shock. "So you DONT see me as a freak or a weirdo?" I asked with a smirk and he shook his head. "Of course not! Your the most interesting human I ever met!" He said waving a paw. I just smiled a bit then I heard my phone ringing. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and answered it. "Hey you good out there? It's been almost 2 hours." I heard my uncle say and I giggled. "Yea I'm fine uncle! I'm just chatting with Haikou one of th-" I began. "Well Haikou, my niece is something else isn't she?" My uncle asked. I looked at Haikou curious. He only laughed. "Yes, she is an interesting one. I'll admit that." He said looking at me with a smile and I smiled back. "Well, I just wanted to let you know that dinner is almost ready. You wouldn't want your food getting cold now would you?" My uncle asked me and I giggled. "Ok! I'm on my way back now!" I said and after that we hung up and I sighed standing up. "Well it was nice meeting you Haikou!" I said bowing my head. He stepped forward and placed a paw on my chin and lifted my head up where I was looking in his eyes. He then lowered his head close to my neck and I felt his breath on my neck which made me shiver. I felt his fangs puncture small holes in my neck but it didn't bleed. He then pulled away and smiled. "That way if you want to visit, the others will know your welcomed here." He said and I sighed slightly which made him laugh a little. He led me back to the spot where we first met and waved to me as I walked down the path. As soon as I got back to the house I had dinner and went to bed.
