Sabie was on their way to Uchu High, listening to Nonfiction by UVS48 until they bumped into Kogami.
"Whoops! Sorry Hel, I didn't see you there, haha!" Sabie chuckled, blinking back in surprise
"No worries," Kogami laughed, brushing it off as they saw the familiar face of their friend, "What are you listening to?"
"Oh! I'm listening to our cover of Nonfiction!" Sabie replied, holding up their phone screen for emphasis. Kogami and Sabie, along with their friends Jyuusan and Yurina, had sung this song all together in the past. "Oh that's nice! Have you listened to the original?" Kogami asked as the pair resumed walking to school. "Yeah I have! It's by Liella! right?" Sabie replied off-handedly, tucking their phone into their pocket.
"Yup! They're school idols," Kogami hummed as they both wandered through the school gates. "School...idols?" Sabie questioned as they stopped in their tracks.
"You don't know what school idols are?" Kogami raised an eyebrow in surprise, before prompting the other to keep walking. Sabie took a moment to think in silence, running over the phrase in their head. School idols? Nope, they'd definitely never heard of it.
"I mean... I know what idols are considering that I want to be one but what's with the school part?" Sabie quizzed, turning to Kogami expectantly.
"It's similar to regular idols except they're based in school. They form a club first and from there, they practice, perform, and compete in the Love Live! It's like a varsity team" Helvette answered, almost interrupted by the harsh shrill of the school bell, signaling registration time.
"Love...Live? What's that?" Sabie asked, raising their voice slightly to be heard over the commotion of busy students.
"I'll tell you more about it later. I gotta go to class, see ya!" Kogami waved as they headed off in the opposite direction to Sabie.

As they took off towards their own class, the idea of both school idols and Love Live circled in their brain. On the way, Sabie pulled out their phone and searched for school idols - mentally noting down some of the well-known ones. To their delight, their teacher, having set a revision lesson, allowed students access to their phones to listen to music. By the time the lesson had ended, Sabie had already listened to several groups; Aqours and Saint Snow emerging as their favourites. Out of curiosity, they also searched for whether Uchu High had had any school idols in the past, disappointed to discover no results.

"JYUUUUUUUSSAAAAAAAAANNNN" Sabie squealed as they ran to Jyuu, wrapping their arms around it in a tight embrace.
"Woah woah Bie, I CAN'T BREAATTHHEE!" Jyuu wheezed, laughing when Sabie let go.
"Hehe sorry. Hey listen, I've been thinking and I think we should start a school idol club together!" Bie exclaimed, poking Jyuu's shoulder with their finger. When they looked over to see it frowning, Sabie's smile fell too.
"Bie, look... this school idol thing, love it, but I think we should just stick to covering. You can make songs in a short amount of time but to do it in a club? I don't think that's possible for us," Jyuu sighed as Sabie dejectedly pouted, fiddling with their fingernails as they tried to think. It just wouldn't be possible without Jyuu on board... and with that thought, an idea came to Sabie's mind. "Then...let's not be school idols!" Sabie stated simply, waiting for the other's confused response.
"Huh? I thought-"
"Let's be cover idols instead!" Sabie suggested, perking up.
"But Bie... we're already in UVS48" Jyuu answered hesitantly, seemingly considering the idea. "We aren't gonna leave UVS48 of course, let's make a club where we cover songs dedicated to school idols!" Sabie explained, delighted when Jyuu smiled at the idea, nodding.
"That actually sounds great! We could invite the UVS48 members to join as well" Jyuu suggested, beginning to build excitement around the idea too.
"And let's get more people! Well, the UVS48 members get a quick pass, they'll be in the club immediately!" Sabie buzzed joyfully, raising their hand for a high five and laughing as Jyuu followed along with it.
"Awesome! Let's start with gathering Kogami, Yurina and Valxrie first!" The other declared as the pair began packing up their things, continuing to chatter about the future group.

"Sorry you guys, I'm currently on a hiatus," Yurina declined as Sabie and Jyuu frowned, unable to hide their obvious disappointment.

"I'm too busy mixing for UVS48. Maybe next time?" Valxrie sighed, politely rejecting the offer as the pair groaned. Kogami was the last one on their list to ask, but they were pretty certain they'd join the lineup, considering they'd mentioned Love Live earlier.

"No."
"WHAAATT?" Sabie and Jyuu shrieked at Kogami's answer, dropping their shoulders in defeat.
"I'm already in a lot of school idol themed cover groups, plus, I don't think there's a way we could get to 9M's level," Kogami stated, sifting through a stack of papers.
"9M?" The pair questioned in unison, Jyuu peeking out from beside Sabie to look at the papers - music sheets.
"9 Mermaids, the best school idol themed cover group ever," Kogami answered before filing the sheets away into a binder.
"So there's more..." Jyuu thought out loud, trailing off at the realisation.
"A lot actually, many people make covers in tribute of school idols because without them, there wouldn't be idols in the first place" Helvette hummed in response as Sabie and Jyuu got up to leave, feeling pessimistic about their club.

"What was I thinking...? I don't even know much about school idols but I wanted to start a group about it in such a short amount of time," Sabie sighed as they groaned into a pillow.
"Bie, if you wanna start it then you should, you didn't know much about what it's like to be a K-pop idol but look at you now! Getting messages from idol companies and everything! Don't give up Sab, this isn't you," Jyuu encouraged, sliding the pillow away from their face as Sabie sat up.
"You're right, Jyuu! Sabie doesn't give up! But how do we make this club happen..." Sabie questioned, pausing to think of an idea.
"Well, convincing is the best thing we could do right now," Jyuu answered honestly - they really needed the others for this to work.
"How should we convince them to join our club?" Sabie asked and this time, it's Jyuu who pauses to think.
"Hey! You should do a live show! You could perform a song you like and maybe it will convince them!" Jyuu suggested, causing Sabie to light up and jump to their feet.
"That's awesome Jyuu! I'm gonna prepare for a live show and invite everyone in Uchu High to watch it!" Sabie declared in excitement, holding a hand out to the other. Jyuu took the offer, standing next to Sabie.
"I'll help you out, Bie!" Jyuu confirmed as the pair tightly hug each other.
"Thanks Jyuu! You're the best!"
