She raised her glass of champagne and began her toast, "A toast to the groom!"

"To the groom!" The guests cheered.

"To the bride!" She continued.

"To the bride!"

"From your sister-" her lovely voice rang out.

"Angelica!" We filled in for her.

"-who is always by your side! To your union!"

"To the union!" I shouted along with others.

"To the revolution!" A bunch of men shouted.

"And the hope that you'll provide!" She continued. "And may you always be satisfied."

I'm not completely sure, but I could've sworn I saw a sliver of hurt cross her face.

The guests clapped, and she made her way back over to my table as Eliza and Alex started their first dance as husband and wife.

"Is something wrong?" I whispered to her as she sat down.

"I think you already know," she looked down.

I nodded.

We sat in silence as we watched the married couple finish their dance, and then the other guests were allowed to get up and dance. I stayed seated until-

"May I finally have this dance?" John walked up to me and held out his hand.

"Well, of course, kind sir," I joked.

The next few songs were pretty upbeat, as that is what Alex and Eliza suggested. It was a little hard to dance to those in these shoes, but I managed.

And we danced the night away.

~~~
"Whoo!" I let out as I sat down exhaustedly. "What a night."
"I agree," John sat down next to me.
A few people had already left, but by now, most were heading out as they said their final goodbyes.
I said goodbye to each of my friends and the sisters, and John said he'd walk me home.
"Why'd you walk again?" He asked as we exited the church.
"Because I didn't feel like wasting money on a carriage ride when it wasn't that long of a distance, duh," I told him.
"And why didn't we get one for the ride back at least?"
"...No idea. Stop making me look dumb."
"You're lucky my house is actually pretty close to yours, so I can keep walking. Or else you'd never hear the end of it!"
"Is that so?" I asked.
"Yep!" he popped the 'p.'
I sighed but was relieved when we had finally made it back to my house.
Thank God! My feet are killing me!
I squealed in delight and almost ran to my front door.
"What's all the excitement for?" He gave a crooked smile.
"That I finally get to be away from you," I said sarcastically.
He dramatically put a hand over his heart and pouted, "And here I thought I actually meant something to you."
"Good night, John. Thank you for walking me home," I gave a warm smile.
"My pleasure. See you in a couple of days," he waved and walked off.
I kicked off my horrible shoes, changed, and hopped straight into my bed as any normal person would do. I let out a small, satisfied sigh as I fell into a deep slumber.
