My Muse || Jonathan Byers

Start from the beginning

The two of you stood in your room as you opened your closet door. "This is what I got." You tell him. Jonathan scans your closet. "What speaks out to you the most?" He asks turning towards you. "What do you mean? I love my clothes I'll wear them all." You reply. Jonathan smiled. "Pick four outfits that you like." He says as he turns around to study your room while you pick out your outfits.

You picked out an overall pants with a striped ribbed purple and black shirt to go over the overalls for the first outfit. A pair of Jean shorts with a black lace tank top for the second outfit. And lastly, two floral mid dresses with cute puff sleeves. One was green, while the other one was pink. You spread the four outfits on your bed and admired them. "Here." You say, getting Jonathan's attention drawn back towards you. He walked up to you and stood next to you as you both looked at the clothes that were displayed. "Now which one is calling out to you?" He asks. You look at him. "They all are." You said with a smile. "Can I pick?" He asked. You shrugged. "Sure I mean I love these outfits so I don't care-" You began to say when Jonathan instantly reaches for the floral green mid dress. "This one for the first picture." He says picking up the dress. You smile. He looks into your eyes and then at your hair. "Keep it like this. I'll have you style it later." He says grabbing a strand of your hair and placing it behind your ear. "And what about my face?" You asked him. "What about it? It's perfect just the way it is." He said. You both smile and you felt your heart skip a beat for a quick second. The room fell silent. You could feel and hear your own heartbeat as you two smile at each other in silence. "I'll go wait outside." He says softly, walking towards the door closing it behind him.

"Okay Jonathan you can come back in now." You exclaim, fixing the sleeves of your dress. He opens the door and stops, his gaze looking at you from head to toe. "You look great." He says with a smile. You smiled back at him and without even thinking you just twirled around in a circle. He didn't tell you to do it, nor did he ask you to do it. The movement just came over you naturally, and without even noticing Jonathan, he took a picture of you twirling. "What now?" You ask him letting out a small chuckle with hands behind your back . Jonathan smiles again and looks around your room. "Give me a room tour?" He asks holding his camera in his hands and begins to fidget with the dial that was on the corner of his camera.

"And this is my bookshelf." You say with a grin. Your turn around to find your favorite book and once you found it, you grabbed it off of the shelf. "There's something about books that just excites me." You say looking down at the book and then back up at Jonathan who continues to hold his camera in his hand. "Aren't you going to take photos?" You asked confused. "Don't worry I'm taking cannon ones." He replied. You tilted your head, confused as you held your book in one hand. "Huh?" You say. Jonathan chuckled, looking down at the ground then back up at you. "Photos that are being taken when someone is just doing normal things and they aren't aware that they're being photographed." He explained. You gasp, feeling your cheeks grow hot and red. "You mean you've been-" You began to say when Jonathan nods. "All this time?" You asked. Jonathan nodded again. You opened your book and hid your face behind it so that the cover faced him. "Jonathan!!" You say embarrassed. You peeked out from the top of the book and saw Jonathan hold up his camera. You squeal, hiding your face back behind the book when Jonathan chuckled. "No come on! That was a good shot!" He said with a smile, his eyes trailing from your hands to your eyes. "Can we just move on to the next photo?" You asked.

"So here?" You asked pointing towards the kitchen wall. "Yep just stand in front of it." Jonathan said. Confused at what he's doing, you went along with his orders and stood in front of the light brown kitchen wall. You looked down at your second outfit and fixed your overall strap. "Is this like a mug shot?" You asked him as he stood in front of you and fixed a piece of your hair that stood out from your bun. "Nope. It's a head shot." He replies, as you felt his warm fingers touch your cheek that sent shivers down your spine. "Oh cool." You replied. Jonathan proceeds to raise his camera up to your face. You felt your cheeks grow red again. "So just look straight at me and not at the camera. Don't smile". He ordered. You did what he told you do to, not hearing or seeing the camera click or flash. "One hand on your shoulder." He said, fiddling with the dial on the camera for a new shot. You did what you were told and didn't ask questions. He then looked up towards the ceiling and grabbed a chair from the dinning room and brought up to where the kitchen lights were. He aligned the chair underneath the lights and stood on the chair, aiming his camera down at you from a certain angle. "Now look up at me." He said softly. You look up and see that he looked goofy with his leg on the chair and the other on the back rest as if the chair was a ship and he was the captain. You couldn't help but laugh when he took the picture. He smiled when he saw you smile. "What?" He asked, his eyes looking at you through his lens. "I'm sorry. You look hilarious up there." You said. He shook his head followed by a chuckle when he got down from the chair. "Onto the next one my muse." He said.
