Police sirens could be heard not too far away from them. Max sat leaned against the brick wall of one of the buildings beside them, his sobs echoing off of the walls of the alleyway. He was curled up in a ball, him face in his knees. Ares looked around, making sure no one was coming their way. No one was but the sirens were drawing closer. Sweat stuck to her exposed skin making her look like a shiny honey baked ham, exhausted from running several blocks only for the cops to be seconds away. She could barely breath, adrenaline pumping though her veins; she was surprised she had gotten this far on just adrenaline. She raked her hair through her dreaded hair, sucking in as much oxygen as her lungs would let her. She had to calm down, now. Ares whipped her head towards Sebastián, who was pacing back and forth in the alleyway. He gripped the pistol in his right hand and his left hand was in a fist. Seeing her partners in crime completely shaken made her even more driven to seem more calm, hoping it would calm them down a little just to see her calm.

"We have to get out of here." She said in a hushed tone.

Sebastián let out a angry roar as he kicked a nearby aluminum trashcan. Ares jumped as It clattered, hitting the wall and ground. Whatever trash was in there was now on the concrete below him. Ares watched in surprised as Sebastian stormed over to Max, crouching down to his level. The gun was still in his hand, pointed downwards. Max didn't see Sebastian, all he saw was the gun. His body started to tremble more than before as he locked eyes with Sebastian.

"Se....sebastian..?" He whimpered, his eyes now fixated on the gun in sebastians hand.

"You have to tell us what you saw in there." Sebastian said in a hurried voice." Come on Max, the police are on their way. They'll be here an second."

"He's...he's scared Seb y-" Ares started

"We are all scared!" He shouted."We are all scared shirtless right now and we have to figure out what to do. Fast!"

Ares pressed her lips together, looking away to peek out of the alleyway.

'No cops yet...but they're close.' She thought.

She looked back at Sebastian and Max, anxiety bubbling in her stomach. Max still hadn't answered Sebastians question and it was starting to show on his face that he was getting impatient. Max sat there sobbing, his body shaking so badly. Ares' wide eyes connected with Sebastians, only for a second.

"I...I didn't even want to be here..." He sobbed." I didn't want to come...he made me. Maybe...maybe now we can get out of if."

Ares held eye contact with Sebastian who's grip was getting tighter on his gun. Ares broke eye contact with Sebastian and got down to Max's level. Before she could even open her lips to say another Max grabbed both of her hands, sitting in front of her on his knees. He gripped both of her hands in his, his hands trembling.

"Please Ares ..." He begged." I can't do this anymore...we can tell the police that...that we got in too deep. We can tell them we were forced to do all of those awful things!"

"Max..." Ares muttered, trying to sound calm.

"We can tell them that! They'll believe us..! We can be safe and they'll protect us..."Max said, his eyes full of tears and snot dripping down his lips.

She had never seen him so desperately scared. Her eyes started to fill with tears but she blinked them away. She shook her head at him, bitting her lip so it wouldn't tremble. She pulled him up to stand, trying not to show fear but her eyes gave it away. He looked up at her with wide, teary eyes. It was at that moment he realize they weren't going to get out of it. The police couldn't save them. His expression changed from scared to full on hopeless.
