Chapter 8: Formal

I didn't even want to hear about this to be honest.

"We're not together." I answered truthfully, keeping my eyes on her. Ignoring the look I know that I was getting from Maddy.

We were cool, but like stated, when we talked it was her telling me things. Never the other way around so she really didn't know about Mika, besides seeing us in the halls.

"Interesting." Kat said making me nod slowly.

"I'll be right back." Jules jumped up and left thee table.

I looked over at Rue who was watching the girl walk out of the gym.

Something was going on between the two.

Obviously Jules had that Nate thing going on, but this was something different. It's completely changed Rue's vibe.

"How ya night been?" I asked Maddy, deciding not to bother Rue for now.

"Could be better."

"I feel that." I nodded, keeping my eyes on the dance floor. "Why you ain't come with nobody? I know hella niggas was tryna get at you" I asked the girl.

"I could ask you the same thing," My eyebrows furrowed when Mika walked past, some guy trailing extremely close behind her. "But never mind that answered my question." She added on making me ignore her chuckle as my eyes followed Mika.

I don't want to say that I was jealous, I was just surprised.

I don't think she knew that I would be here, but for her to jump to the next guy was kinda crazy.

It felt like she was giving me a taste of my own medicine, but I didn't deserve it, surprisingly.

I hadn't fucked any other girls besides her since being back, so this was lowkey a smack in the face.

"Shut up." I said playfully to Maddy

Maybe I was jealous.

Or it was just the fact that she made eye contact with me.

That shit ticked me off.

As I moved to look back at the girls, my attention was immediately drawn to Nate who had a girl by his side.

And her ass was completely out.

Like I'm not even exaggerating.

He had a tight grip on her, looking at our table as he passed by and walked to the dance floor.

"First of all ew," Maddy spoke making me turn to look at her. "Second of all ew." She repeated, pure disgust on her face.

Laughing lowly, I pulled my lighter and blunt out of my pocket.

"That's your Karma." I laughed.

"Maddy." Lexi said.

"Maddy no" I looked over at the girl who was taking a big gulp from the Gatorade bottle they had. "Maddy don't do it." Kat said as Maddy abruptly stood up.

"Get up." She said as she moved to stand in front of me.

"For what?" I mumbled before putting my blunt in my mouth.

"Just fucking listen." I raised my hands at her tone and stood the fuck up.

"Damn," I mumbled, using my free hand to take the blunt out of my mouth, as she used my other hand to drag me onto the dance floor. "Why you gotta bring me into y'all bullshit?" I said to Maddy when we stopped in the middle of the dance floor.

"Because there's no one else in here Nate is more jealous of."

"So I'm just a pawn in ya lil game?" I leaned down so she could hear me clearly over the loud music.
