Chapter 8: Formal

Just to save her from me.

And this probably all sounds like an excuse, but to me it was valid.

"I'm about to head out," I walked into the living room. "What you doing tonight?" I asked Fez.

"Prolly just chilling."

"Imma swing by later then." He shook his head.

"Nah, enjoy your formal, I'll see you tomorrow." He looked away from me when I tried to hold eye contact with him.

Something was definitely up. I could read Fez like a book. But sometimes it was just better not to press and keep it moving.

"Aight, I'll see you, tomorrow bro." I started the walk out of the house. Before I made it to the door I had to bother Ash.

"Bye Ash," I poked my head in his room. "Love you." I said with a smile on my face

"Fuck you." He responded making me laugh and shake my head before walking out of the apartment.

Getting into my car, I started the drive to the school.

I was extremely late, but no one was expecting me so it really didn't matter.

Pulling up into the school and parking, I got out and made my way inside.

Dapping some people up as I walked through to the gym, once I made it in I was immediately hit with the smell of weed.

East Highland kids gave no fucks what so ever.

I smoked on campus, but in my car, never in the building.

But since the chaperones seemed to not care I might have to change that today.

"Y/n!" My name was yelled making me stop walking. "You look good." One of Mika's friends held out, looking me up and down.

"Thank you," I leaned down giving all three of them hugs. "Y'all look good as well." I complimented. "Where's Mika?" I asked and all of them looked at each other.

I already knew what that meant.

They was about to lie like a motherfucker.

"She went to grab a drink a few minutes, but she hasn't came back yet." I nodded slowly.

"Well whenever you see her, tell her I'm here and to text me."

"Ok we got you," I thanked them starting to walk away. "Bye Y/n." They all held out playfully making me shake my head and chuckle to myself.

"Look at this group right here," I smiled as I spotted Rue and them all at one tablet. "What's up y'all." I leaned my hands against the table, looking at them.

"You look nice Y/n." Cassie said

"Y'all look dead ass hell." I spoke ignoring Cassie.

"This isn't necessarily the best event." Kat said, everyone nodding along with her.

"Where y'all dates?" I asked grabbing a chair from a different table so I could sit with them.

"Fuck a date." Cassie said making me nod slowly.

"Yea not everyone is in a relationship here." Kat said and I know that was directed to me.

"I'm not in a relationship." I defended myself.

"What about Mika?" She asked, a tight lipped smile rising onto my face.

I love Kat, but she talk too much. She needed to read the room, I was sitting right next to Maddy and I know she didn't want to hear about this.
