You again

I starred at the empty room. The once furnished house with loving memories, was now a cold empty nothing. Everything was out, most of the furniture being sold for money. Though my father had been a surgeon and my mother a dentist, we were pretty well off. It still didn't help the fact that I was being forced out of the only home I had ever known. The only things I now own are my own personal items, plus some of my family's items that are going into storage; photo albums, trinkets, etc.

I shut the front door behind me, making sure to lock it as I went.

This was really it, I was no longer a resident in this house.

I wanted to get away, as in just run until my legs gave out from under me. I didn't want this life, I didn't ask for this to happen. So why did it? I knew I would never receive an answer, and that's wasn't good enough for me.

"Ava?"

I hesitantly turned around at the sound of a husky accented voice from behind me.

"Ava Summers?" I furrowed my brows together. Who was this man? Though he looked strangely familiar...

"You don't remember me do you love?" He smirked at me.

"Sorry no, do I know you?"

He chuckled.

"It's me Harry"

I bit the inside of my cheek.

"I'm slightly hurt I'm that easily forgettable"

Harry. Harry. Did I know a Harry?

"I'm sorry about your family, Billy and Sarah were like my second parents.... and your brother William. I always liked playing football with him, even when he'd kick my arse every time"

My eyes widened.

"Oh my god" He smiled.

"Oh my god! Harry!" I ran down the steps and onto the sidewalk before flinging my arms around his neck, bringing his body close to mine.

Harry Styles, the cheeky, sneaky, perverted, and downright adorable boy who had lived next door to me for most of my childhood. The last time I had seen him was when I was twelve, him being fifteen at the time. Even though he was three years older than me, he always treated me equally to all his other friends.

I remember being devastated when his family decided to move back to London. I had cried for a week straight.

"You look so different!" I pulled back from the hug to examine the very tall and very very handsome young man standing in front of me.

It's amazing what five years and puberty can do to someone. He grew at least a foot, developed muscles and a amazingly deeper voice that I didn't know was possible to have. His hair.... well there was certainly more of it! It framed his face perfectly, and his eyes were the same bright shade of green I remembered them to be. Somethings never change, and for that I was grateful.

I saw a hint of blush rise to his cheeks.

"So do you! You got your braces off, and you lost all your baby fat" He poked my stomach, and I mockingly frowned at him. He would always used to tease me about my baby fat when we were kids, though we both knew he didn't mean a word he spoke.

So that's why I just rolled my eyes and leaned in to give him another hug. He embraced me with his muscular arms, the feeling of them wrapped tightly around my body made me feel safe and loved. A feeling I had been missing for quite some time.

"What are you doing back in New York?" I whispered, not ready to pull away from our hug just yet.

"I came back for you." His breath gently hit my ear.

"What?" Pulling away, I gave him a somewhat confused look.

"You're coming to live with me in London Ava, it's been decided"

He no longer wore the happy cheeky smile of a boy in a candy shop. He now looked much older, and much more professional. Authorative.

"But.. but what about my grandma? And school, I have a life here Harry! I can't just leave it to move halfway across the world with you, I haven't seen you in five years! People... they change."

I trailed off on the last bit, too overwhelmed by the information I had just been told. Since when did he decide my life for me?

"Listen Ava, you know me alright? We both know your gran isn't capable of taking care of you, she can't even look after herself..."

I looked down at my feet; swallowing the thick lump in my throat.

"Plus, do you really want to stay here in New York? When we were young, you were always saying how you wanted to go off on big adventures, and see the world. Here's your chance. London can be a starting point for you, a fresh start over. And it's summer anyways, so school doesn't start for another three months."

I looked up at him, plastering a small smile onto my face.

"Well you sure have given this a lot of thought."

He laughed.

"I have."

"How would this even work?"

He shrugged. "I mean you're almost eighteen right?"

"Another six months."

He sucked in a breath. "Well, we could just tell people that I'm looking after you until you turn eighteen, which by then you'd be legal. It will all work out Ava, it's going to be fine."

I smiled up at him. Here this man was putting time and effort into making sure I was okay. Just the thought warmed my heart, and I reached out to grab his hands in my own. Giving them a gentle squeeze, I leaned in and kissed his cheek lightly.

"Thank you Harry. I really missed you."

He squeezed my hands back.

"I missed you too Ava, more than you know."
