Shido then said something softly and weakly in his mind and tried to hide his feelings and expression as he noticed some of the girls looking at him, noticing that he was troubled with something.

"White Reaper, I won't give up on you like my mother gave up on me."

At nine o'clock, dinner had ended and all the girls had left. Shido and Kotori are the only people in the Itsuka Residence. The two have begun to gather all the used dishes.

"Let me help you with the dishes. That's a lot," Kotori said, concerningly.

"No, it's alright, I can do it." Shido said with a reassuring smile.

"Suit yourself, big brother," Kotori said defeatedly as she turned her back to go upstairs to her bedroom as Shido started washing the dishes.

"Wait, Kotori, on second thought," Shido gently and calmly said, interrupting Kotori, who was halfway up the stairs.

"Fine, I knew you couldn't do it all alone," Kotori said as she walked downstairs to assist Shido with the dishes.

"No, not that. There's something else we can talk about, and it might be sensitive," Shido said weakly, his gaze fixed on the sink.

"What is it, big bro?" Kotori asked as her ribbons strangely turned from white to red.

"I have some more questions about Ratatoskr," Shido asked, with a hint of restraint and anxiety.

It was the happiest morning of the week. On a Saturday morning, the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, the bees are buzzing, the children are happily playing outside, the introverts are staying inside, the extroverts are staying outside, and the ambiverts have mixed feelings. It is a beautiful day. What kind of horrible person would wake up angry at the world?

"Fuck me, motherfucking fuck me!" Accelerator screamed from inside his consciousness.

Inside an abandoned building, where all the openings have been sealed off. Accelerator was stuck down on the ground, unable to move or speak.

Last night, Accelerator had two PTSD episodes that made him unknowingly turn off his switch. Maybe sleeping and hanging around in abandoned areas is a bad idea. The PTSD episode may be the result of a mix of being in an unfamiliar place, like maybe a parallel universe, having no interactions with friends and family, and toxic mold and carbon monoxide mostly found in abandoned, unmaintained areas known to cause neurologic symptoms like irrational fears. This usually wouldn't be a problem for the first ranked esper, but he turned off his reflection in order not to rely on it too much, which resulted in inhaling mold and carbon monoxide plus the traumatic past. It was such a misfortune.

Accelerator's choker is a necessary device to compensate for the loss of his own calculation abilities, which he heavily relied on. The device is also used to compensate for his loss of motor and verbal skills. So, with it off, he is a vegetable. He knew something like this might happen but had no regrets as this was a better scenario than staying at Shido's house and Artemisia's hotel room.

One would ask why someone would rather stay in a dangerous place than a comfy place with a room safe from the elements. If Accelerator answers, he may exceed the word limit.

It was a miracle he was able to use it and charge it despite being in another world. First, luckily, when he was captured by DEM, they must have charged it while it was still on his neck, mistaking it for the latest electronic gadget. Then, when he got it charged at an overpass and at Artemisia's hotel room. There is also the mystery of where and what it is currently connected to.
