Finding what cannot be Found

"At least it can't get any fucking worse." Accelerator with nothing left to lose, screamed in his mind while tempting fate at the same time.

"Yoshino, where are we going?" Natsumi complained as her hand was being pulled by Yoshino.

"I'll tell you when we get there," Yoshino said as she dragged Natsumi.

"Okay, okay, I get it. Do you really need to pull my hand?" Natsumi complained but was ignored by Yoshino, who kept pulling her.

The two girls, who seem to be in their pre-teens, and the Spirits who were sealed by Shido, found themselves in an abandoned area. Natsumi is wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and a green skirt, while Yoshino is wearing red overalls over a white shirt and an explorer cap. She also carried a red backpack.

"Isn't this place dangerous and creepy?" Natsumi asked while trying not to sound scared.

"Hoho, is Natsumi scared?" The puppet in Yoshino's left hand said in a mocking manner.

"No, I am not. I am just... ummm, fine. What are we doing here anyway?" Natsumi said, turning to Yoshino.

"You see, me and Yoshinon watched a show last night and we found out boys like brave and courageous girls, so maybe I can learn how to be brave by exploring scary places," Yoshino said quietly and shyly in a cute manner.

"But why bring me?" Natsumi asked, annoyed and irritated.

"Well, you see, I also heard that it's best to bring a companion, and you are the only one I can go to," Yoshino said shyly and weakly.

"Fine, let's get this over with," Natsumi replied as she gave in to the girl's request. Her mind, however, is elsewhere.

"Ughhhh, why am I scared? Uggh. I am so worthless. She only chose to bring me alone because she had no one. If there was someone better, she would discard me like trash. I am worse than trash. At least it can be recycled. Ughhhh no. At least things worse than trash have some use." Natsumi said, while deep in thought.

"Natsumi, are you alright?" Yoshino asked, noticing the distraught Natsumi.

"What's the matter? Are you scared? Well, I guess Yoshino can do it alone, so she can gather some courage to ask ou-" The puppet commented.

"No alright, I am fine. Let's go," Natsumi said as she switched to an upbeat expression, definitely not to hide her emotions.

The two girls started to explore the abandoned area to increase their bravery and courage and maybe to find something interesting.

They discovered a destroyed, old, rusted wrought iron fence. It looked as if it had been built forty or sixty years ago. The girls found a destroyed opening and crossed it.

As the two girls walked, they started chatting about their plans and what they were going to do.

"Maybe we can find something cool to show Shido," Yoshino commented.

"Like what?" Natsumi asked.

"Maybe buried treasure, or ooh, a mysterious animal, or ooh, gold." The puppet answered Yoshino.

" I doubt it. This place is not that far. If there is something interesting or valuable, somebody must have picked it up already," Natsumi replied, as she started to get bored.

An hour passed as the two continued wandering, hoping for something interesting they could stumble upon.

"Should we head back home? There's just nothing out here," Natsumi complained again.
