WAN (Wide Area Network):
WANs are used in a large geographical area to share information. This can be identified as a collection of LANs.
MAN (Metropolitan Area Network):
MANs are mostly used to cover an area of a city.
VPN (Virtual Private Network):
Describes the opportunity to establish a protected network connection when using public networks. VPN uses a technique called tunneling to transfer data securely on internet to a remote access server.
