Violet's POV

I awoke to the sound of birds chirping. The sun shone brightly. Today was the day of the hearing. Just some days ago there was an attempt to close the hole on the wall which was successful. I'd taken part in fighting the titans on the first half but I was told to take it easy in the second half by my all time favourite...Dot Pixis. I wasn't aware of what had happened in the second half.

'Are these people out of their minds? How can they trust a titan? Erwin must be out of his mind, but...I've been away for so many years. Do I even get to say what I want?...He probably needs more hands though. I should go back. I've gotten better, much better.' I wore a long sleeved white shirt, that fit perfectly around my body and the survey corps uniform over it. It had been about a year since I recovered, but I wasn't allowed to do any physically straining events, yet the last year all I did was train behind Erwin's back. I was perfectly back in shape, just as fast and strong as before, if not more. I was ready to go back to work.

I chose to go see him after he gets out of the court. He was looking around when he saw me. He stopped talking to the person and walked towards me. I wasn't exactly happy about him leaving someone hanging but he still was my superior. When he walked to my direction everyone's eyes followed.

"Why are you here?" He asked somewhat angry.

"I've recovered. I thought you could use some extra hands." I replied.

He looked a little less angry but everything else turned to worry. He didn't say anything just walked another way so I followed him. We were at a much more quiet place where no eyes stared.

"Erwin, it's been 10 years since I've been stuck in that hospital, the only people I met being you, Hange and the doctors. I'm absolutely fine." I argued. He seemed lost for a while but I knew he'd understand. Sure he wouldn't let me do anything if I was injured but, seeing me walk around normally was proof enough.

"Hmm. I guess so. Welcome back to the survey corps Captain." He spoke formally before smiling and pulling me into a hug. I hugged back. He was a sweet older brother. In the past 10 years he came and took care of me whenever he could. Hange though, she came to visit me almost every single day, the only exception being when she went on expeditions or got sick.

"Where's Hange?" I asked separating from the hug.

"Hange is with Eren, the new recruit." He replied sternly.

"She must be experimenting on him. I feel bad for him."

"Shortcakeeeee!!!!!!!" I heard a sudden voice I could recognise from anywhere.

"Hange." I said smiling, I was soooo happy. If I was into women, I'd marry her, no even if I'm not into girls I'll marry her, she's an exception. (Before y'all start shouting...I know Hange's gender isn't specified.) That thought did however remind me of someone. My mood soured for a second before I heard Hange's voice snap me out of it.

"Shortcake!"

"I'm not a wheel chair anymore though...I'm taller." I joked.

She giggled like a kid and nodded before she jumped onto me.

"Shortcake~!!!!!! I missed you so much!!!!!" Hange cheered as if she hadn't seen me in years. I hugged her back tightly. Over the years I had been sad all the time but I did always have a lot of laughter and good time though. All because of Hange. I also wasn't a fan of talking too much, unless of course it was an argument (which is very rare) or a plan/ a thought I had. But with Hange and Erwin, I talked a significant amount regardless, after all they mean the world to me. Of course I cared about everyone else too but these two, I'd be willing to not only die but even go through torture for them.
