Writing prompt: Fernando Alonso and Yuki Tsunoda get stuck in an elevator.

Yuki stepped into the elevator, his eyes were watery of tiredness. A whole day of media presentations was definitely the cause of this.

He aggressively pushed the button of the floor he needed to go to before pressing the 'close-the-door' button. The door didn't seem to be in a hurry and eventually started closing in slowmotion.

Yuki felt his eyelids closing almost falling asleep standing up, but they shot open when he hurt a shocking noise and a deep grown. An arm had reached through the small slit of the door.

"I'm sorry" a voice said in a thick Spanish accent, before the door opened and revealed the face of Fernando Alonso.

Yuki didn't say anything at first, but then Fernando stepped in and pushed the button of the floor he needed to go to. Then he looked at Yuki.

"Ahh, Tsunoda, I didn't recognize you there, my little Japanese friend." Fernando said, when the door closed again. Yuki groaned at the statement, but he couldn't blame the fact that he hadn't recognized him. He was swimming in a way too large hoodie, the hood pulled al the way over his head.

"Hi, to you you too, Spanish giant." He joked back. His voice was expressing all his tiredness. Fernando laughed and let himself lean to the wall of the elevator next to Yuki, looking at the red numbers displaying what floor they were on.

Suddenly the numbers disappeared, Fernando didn't think much of it, they probably were just on the right floor. But then the light on the elevator ceiling turned off leaving the small space the two of them were in pitch black.

Yuki squealed, making Fernando laugh a little. Then he realized they were in trouble. Yuki had almost immediately grabbed his phone out of his pocket and turned a flashlight on.

All the buttons that were lit before were now not showing any sign of light.

"I guess we're stuck here, Tsunoda" Fernando said looking at Yuki whom was clearly panicking.

"Fuck, fuck, no, I need to sleep." Yuki said, already tearing up. Fernando looked at the young man, feeling sorry and somewhat guilty about the whole situation.

Maybe it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't slipped in at the last second.

"Sit down, little one, I'll make sure we will get out of here." Fernando grabbed Yuki's phone to use the flashlight. Yuki did as Fernando told and sat down, he hugged his knees to comfort himself a bit.

Fernando was scanning all the buttons to see if there was an alarm or help button. There wasn't any between the normal ones, so he proceeded to scan around the elevator.

On the other side there was a red one which displayed the picture of a bell.

He pressed it, but not to much use, it didn't do anything.

"The power must have gone off." Fernando said, not trying to scare the young driver. "But no worries they will get us out of here soon." He added as he looked at the small ball of human sitting on the floor.

"Is there any service?" Yuki asked with a small voice.

Fernando checked the phone, "No, no service or WiFi." He answered. Then he said down next to Yuki.

"Hey," He said giving a small elbow to the right, "It will be okay." He said.

"I know, I know, I am just really tired." Yuki said more trying to convince himself. He was too scared to admit that he was scared.

"Wanna know something?" Fernando asked making Yuki look up curiously.

Fernando saw the teary eyes of the young driver, his heart broke a little.

"You are a really talented driver." He said. Yuki raised his shoulders not believing it one bit.

He just wants to comfort me.

"I mean it." He reassured.

"Thank you, you too." Yuki said trying to be polite.

"Well thank you, but I know." The Spanish driver sounded cocky yet genuine.

"It is not wrong to acknowledge your strengths or your weaknesses, you know." Fernando continued.

"What is your weakness?" Yuki asked as he looked at Fernando. He could not imagine he had one.

"Okay, this may sound silly and untrue, but I guess I always feel like I'm too cold or heartless." He confessed.

"I can see that actually, I used to be quite scared of you." Yuki said.

"Since when did you stop being scared?"

"Maybe just like 3 minutes ago." Yuki laughed a bit.

"Oh" Fernando said and then chuckled too.

It was quiet for sometime. Then it broke by the sound of a loud yawn coming from Yuki.

"If you wanna sleep you can use my shoulder if you want." Fernando responded to the yawn.

"And you say you're cold and heartless?" Yuki said as he shifted to let his head rest on the broad but soft shoulder.

"You remind me of a young me and I just wished someone had given me a shoulder once." Fernando said after thinking for a while. Then he leaned his head against Yuki's.

It didn't take long before Yuki drifted off into a deep sleep. Fernando however just closed his eyes in relaxation but sleep didn't come to him.

After half an hour of sitting like this Fernando heard a rumbling sound. He opened his eyes to see the light flickering.

Then the elevator started moving again.

Fernando moved his shoulder a bit.

"Come on little one, wake up." He whispered.

Yuki's eyes fluttered open.

"Oh good" he said and stood up.

"Thank you." Yuki continued as the door opened.

"No worries, sleep well"  Fernando looked at how Yuki walked out and thought about what had just happened.

Maybe a real great friendship was born that night.
