Talking To The Moon

wretchedness

Everyone has battles to fight

And while some don't get to pick theirs

Others deny to.

I'd like to say mine was heroic

And that I was dauntless

I'd like to say, it wasn't easy,

Which it is most certainly not

But that I fought it beautifully

And strong

Like the soldier I never was.

But in all honesty

How could something else

But misery

Result of a battle

Fought against myself?
