Chapter twenty

"What's going on?" I say.

No answer.

"Hello, what the hell is goi-" I try to finish my sentence but I'm interrupted with a loud bang.

A gunshot.

We all crouch down, Ethan turning to lock the door.

I grab the gun Leonix gave me before we arrived.

Flipping off the safety, they all follow my actions grabbing their guns.

"We need to leave, Now. It isn't safe" Ethan informs us.

I shake my head no repeatedly.

They all snap their gazes to me.

"Mariah, you don't understand. If we stay, there's no telling what will happen" Danika says.

"No, I'm not leaving without him."

Confusion written all over their faces.

I tilt my head to the side.

"You didn't see who walked in the door? My brother is here, I'm not leaving him behind. So either you all put on your grown up panties, or leave and I'll do this myself" I inform.

Leonix looks away.

"Fine, we'll look for him. But I'm telling you now, if we don't find him we have no choice but to leave. Do you understand?" Leonix finally speaks up.

I nod yes.

Cocking my gun and getting my extra amo ready.

"Ready?" Ethan ask's.

We all nod yes.

We all run out shooting the people in our way, kicking,punching.

From the corner of my eye I see someone sneaking up on Leonix.

"LEO, BEHIND YOU." I yell to him making him throw a dagger behind him hitting the man perfectly in the forehead.

Leave a bloody scene I guess.

Bullets flying my way, I dodge every hit.

"MARIAH, WHERE ARE YOU LETS GO." He say's.

Marcus.

I snap my head the direction of his voice.

My heart instantly drops to my stomach.

He's being held at gun point against the wall.

"RUN PLEASE. ILL BE OKAY, I PROMISE STAR. PLEASE JUST GO OKAY." He screams with tears streaming down his face.

"NO, IM NOT LEAVING WITHOUT YOU MARCUS PLEASE. LET HIM GO PLEASE. TAKE ME, LET HIM GO"

The man turns to face me and smiles.

Ew he's creepy.

"YEA, LET HIM GO PLEASE. COME GET ME AND LETS GO" I scream back.

But he doesn't move. He just smiles.

"NOO, WHY DID YOU DO THAT YOU SON OF A BITCH. IM GOING TO KILL YOU" Tears pouring from my eyes.

The gunfire dies down.

Everything stops.

"GET HIM I DONT CARE HOW DO IT" I hear Leonix yell.

Footsteps running towards me.

And suddenly arms wrap around my legs and my back licking me up.

"Come on, I got you. It's okay" he whispers.

As I'm being placed on what I'm guessing is the back seat of the Limo I feel my eyes getting heavy.

Why am I tired?

"Stay awake, don't close your eyes" someone speaks.

"I'm just gonna take a nap, okay? Talk to you when I get up!" I say before sleep wins me over.
