"We're out right now."
He threw his hands up in exasperation, "Yeah, but it's all for your mystery girl! Can't you just give me a day where all you think about is me? I want you to give me your full attention, and really consider dating a guy-"
"But I told you I'm not gay! I warned you about this..."
He crossed his arms and spoke matter-of-factly, "I know you like me, Nate, even if you don't know it yourself quite yet!"
I scoffed, amused by the ridiculous idea as I said sarcastically, "Yeah, okay! I definitely like you, Paxton... as more than a friend."
He looked mad, but he kept his voice even as he spoke, "All I'm asking is for a chance, Nate. You're not ready to go back to that hotel room... trust me! If this is the attitude you have towards the idea of us right now, then I guarantee you're not gonna like what you find up there!"
I was confused by his cryptic meaning. "What the fuck is that supposed to mean? Why would my relationship with you have anything to do with her?! Stop fucking around, Paxton! If you don't want to come with me, then just go home! I don't need you anymore. Just stay out of it!"
I was regretting my mean tone and words instantly... Paxton didn't deserve that.
But before I cold apologize, something in Paxton just snapped! With great determination and aggression, he stormed up to the front desk and slammed his credit card down as he demanded a room, "Is 1511 available for the night?! My friend here is awfully tired..."
I was a little apprehensive as I approached. "How did you know it was room 1511?" I asked in confusion.
He spoke with extreme sarcasm as he replied, "Oh, you must have told me at some point! I mean, that night is all you've talked about since we've met, so the room number was bound to come up in one of your many repetitive accounts, right?!"
The woman behind the desk took down Paxton's information quickly and then passed him the key card with a wary smile, probably sensing the growing tension between us. Paxton grabbed me by the upper arm and practically dragged me away as the woman was finishing with her rehearsed, "Thank you for choosing our establishment! We hope that you enjoy your stay."
Paxton pushed me into the elevator when the doors opened.
I tried to protest, "When I got drunk last time, I remembered taking the stairs..."
"Nope." Paxton stated breezily, and then closed the distance between us. He placed his hand on the mirrored wall behind me, trapping me in place as he leaned in with a smile. "Try again, Nate. Think harder! Did you really take the stairs up twelve flights of stairs, or did you take the elevator?"
I gulped in fear, not understanding what Paxton was trying to pull here. "Well I suppose given our drunken state, we probably took the elevator up." I guessed.
He raised a dubious eyebrow as he prodded me further, "And what might you have been doing with this mystery girl as you glided up twelve floors in the seclusion of this small, intimate space?"
He pressed his body against mine and ran his free hand up my torso, lifting my shirt in the process. I could feel his hot breath against my lips as his eyes impatiently searched mine. Suddenly his touch and the atmosphere sparked another memory from that night. I was passionately making out with my mystery girl in the elevator, much as we did in the alleyway. It was a power struggle of two bodies pushing one another against the mirrored walls for dominance. And our hands were uncontrollable as we unbuttoned each other's shirts and pants to explore further. We were beyond impatient with the slow rise of the elevator, eager to get to our room and bed already!
