"Chace?" I carefully removed myself from him in case he was severely damaged, and then I helped him up once I was certain that he just had a couple of scratches and potential bruise sites. "You're Chace, aren't you?"

He simply nodded.

All animosity melted away as I pulled him into a great big hug. "Dude, it's so good to finally meet you! What took you so long to get here?!"

The crowd that had initially formed began to dissipate once they realized the drama had ended.

"We stopped for breakfast before pulling up." Chace gestured at the beautiful girl by his side; the one that had been screaming at me. "Sorry about the fall..." He began sheepishly as he pulled the girl close to him. "Leona was almost run over by some idiot playing Frisbee in a crowded area. I pulled her out of the way in time, but I lost my own footing in the process and crashed into you."

I waved him off. "Don't sweat it, man! No harm done. But how did you know that it was me?"

I thought I saw his cheeks flush red in embarrassment, but I may have been mistaken. He shrugged as he turned his gaze away, "I just knew..."

I guess I had made enough of an impression in our chats to make it easy for him.

Leona was now smiling at me with such interest. She was a total babe! I could only assume that the secret looks she was giving Chace had something to do with their relationship, and the way that she was clinging to his arm made me wonder if Chace had lied to me about having a girlfriend. Or maybe they were just fuck buddies...

Either way I could tell that the girl was off limits. She was too close to Chace, and I wanted to start our epic bromance off on the right foot. You just don't hit on your roommate's girl, no matter their status.

However, the other guys didn't hesitate to jump all over Leona the minute they realized they had an easy introduction.

"Bro! Aren't you going to introduce us to your new friend and this beauty?!" Jedson elbowed me hard in the side as Nate stepped forward with a betraying amount of interest for this girl that wasn't his precious Emma.

"This is Nate and Jedson." I nodded in their direction before quickly explaining, "I met them this morning and thought they'd get along with us well. They plan on joining the soccer team too!"

Chace smiled at this fact, probably just as excited as I was to get to playing.

"That's my roommate, Chace..." I nodded at the handsome boy as if Nate and Jedson needed a distinction between him and the equally gorgeous girl by his side. "And that's Leona, his..."

"If you're about to say girlfriend, I must protest!" Jedson jokes, although his tone holds a hint of honesty and jealousy. "There's no way that would be fair in any world! You're both too good-looking for one couple to handle..."

Chace laughs but doesn't deny their relationship.

I guess they're a couple after all.

Leona jumps in with a gleeful confession, "He's not my boyfriend!"

I couldn't help but notice the surprised look Chace was giving her, almost as if she wasn't meant to say such a thing.

Leona continued anyways, "We're just friends. Always have been, and we'll never be anything more." She pointedly looked at me as she said this.

Jedson wormed his arm around Leona's back in a blatantly flirtatious manner. It was quite comical, actually. "Well then, since you are currently unattached to the Adonis at your side, may I offer to carry your bags up to your dorm room in exchange for your number, dear lady?"

Leona laughed at his pathetic pick up line, but allowed him to steer her back towards the parking lot so they could get her things. Nate followed behind them with his tongue hanging out like an eager, thirsty puppy.

I had a feeling that our foursome friend group would easily adapt to five whenever Leona would deign to grace us with her presence.

Chace and I remained in the courtyard, each sporting a stupid looking grin as we sized each other up.

After a long stretch of comfortable silence, I gestured in the general direction of the cafeteria. "Wanna grab a coffee?"

He didn't miss a beat as he immediately nodded and said, "Sounds perfect."

Ian is such a ladies man. Given the new school environment crawling with fresh faces, I suppose we can't blame him for taking advantage of this. I remember my first month of University...
