•Camila's POV•
I woke up to the smell of pancakes and the sound of my mom calling me downstairs for breakfast. As much as I love food, it was not good enough for me to get out of bed, especially on a school day. I groaned loudly and tried to go back to sleep.

Key word - tried. What felt like only five seconds later, my alarm went off as What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction started playing loudly from my phone, deafening me. I knew I shouldn't have used one of my favourite songs as my alarm, I'm honestly starting to like it less.

I finally decided to get out of bed and shower. As much as I hate school I'd rather not embarrass myself by walking into class late again - the last time I did this I fell flat on my face with everyone looking at me.

"Good morning, Karla," my mom greeted me as I walked down the stairs grumpily. "You could try to look a little happier, this is your last year after all, you'll miss school when it finishes Mija." I rolled my eyes. I can't wait to get out of that place. I love learning but I hate all the other aspects of school.

"I'd never miss that place." She just shook her head, knowing how stubborn I am. "Is Shawn driving you to school today?" Shawn was my best and only friend, ever since middle school. He had tried to be more than friends a few times but once I came out to him he was respectful and stopped hitting on me.

"Yes, he'll be here in about 10 minutes," I said while stuffing my mouth full of pancakes, making my mom chuckle slightly. "Slow down cariño, you're going to choke if you eat any faster."

"Sorry mama, I'm starving. I haven't eaten since last night," I said pouting slightly. "Oh yeah, I forgot you have to be fed at least every hour to stay happy," she said, jokingly.

Just then, I heard a car beep outside indicating that Shawn was here. I rolled my eyes at my mom, giving her a hug before walking towards the door. "Give Sofi a hug for me!" I yelled before leaving. Sofi was my little sister but her school started later than mine so she gets extra time to sleep. It's so unfair.

"Hey Shawny boy," I greeted him while stepping into his car. "Hey Mila, you ready for another day of hell?" I groaned in response and put my earphones in, dreading the arrival to school.

•30 minutes later•

I'd been dreading this moment ever since I woke up. We had finally arrived at school and I now sat in Math class. Shawn was in a different class to me as his grades were significantly lower than mine so I was incredibly bored.

I was mindlessly staring at the door when it swung open. She had arrived. The one and only Lauren Jauregui. She was with her group - Dinah Jane, Normani Kordei, Zain Malik and Lucy Vives. They were a mystery to the whole school. Nobody knew much about them, especially not Lauren. She was the biggest mystery of all. I found myself staring at her while Mr Smith, our teacher, was scolding them for being late. She always dressed kinda
casual but looked so flawless.

After a while of staring at her, she suddenly started walking towards me. I sat up in my seat, quickly taking my gaze away from her. In the corner of my eye I saw her sit in the seat next to me, with her group sitting to the left of her. She has a strong and distinct, sort of like vanilla. I have to admit, I do have a small crush on her. Nobody knows and nobody will ever know, it was just a little high school crush that doesn't mean anything.

I wasn't paying attention when Mr Smith called on me. He had to repeat my name three times for me to acknowledge him and when I did all eyes were on me, including Lauren's beautiful emerald eyes. When I finally noticed him, the only thing I could say was "huh?" The majority of the class started laughing, turning me red in an instant. "Pay more attention next time, Camilla," I cringed at the mispronunciation of my name and sunk into my seat, turning a deeper shade of red.
