"Despite your rudeness, I will answer your question."

Seven drops to Lilith's level, his blue-grey eyes falling to Elena.

"Tell me, how can one be so beautiful while injured?"

Lilith tightens her grip on the blade hidden on the side of her.

"Give me your hand."

"Why?"

Seven raises his eyebrows.

"Are you questioning me?"

"No–"

"Do not lie to me."

Seven tsks before grabbing Lilith's hand.

Everything seems to freeze until Seven lets out a delightful laugh.

"Was this meant for me?"

Pure terror grips Lilith's heart.

"As much as I love blades, they're rather useless in the face of magic."

Seven plucks the blade out of Lilith's hand, tucking it into his red cloak.

"Please do not hurt me." Lilith begs, ignoring the way her voice shakes and cracks.

Seven grimaced at the sound.

"Relax, I would never hurt someone so close to Elliana... unless it was necessary."

Lilith swallows thickly at the threat.

Seven places a golden bracelet in Lilith's hand.

"Give this to her when she awakens. Oh, and do me a favor?"

Lilith observes him as he approaches the door.

"Never speak of Kismet. If you do... well, I'm sure you know what will happen."

The door shuts silently behind him.

Lilith lays her hand on her chest, taking deep breaths to calm herself.

"What have you gotten us into?" Lilith mummers.

An echo of a voice causes Lilith to freeze.

"Lilith! Wake up!"

Suddenly, everything went dark.

"Lilith!" Tatia yells, shaking her cousin.

Lilith groans, rolling to the other side of the bed.

"Go away, Tatia."

"Oh? I suppose you did not want to know that Elena woke up. Very well, I'm off."

Lilith quickly sits up.

"She's awake?"

"That is what Elijah told me."

"He's talking to you again?"

"Of course he is– he just needed some time, after Henrik... Why are you so curious about my life? I thought you hate me."

Lilith rolls her eyes.

"I do."

"Are you going to visit her?"

Lilith pauses.

"Perhaps."

"Everyone knows you care for her; why do you still try to hide it?"

"Go away, Tatia."

Tatia hesitates before leaving the room.

"I suppose you were behind the dream, Seven. I don't like you going through my memories even if you were there for them, but I have received your message."

Lilith sighs, grabbing the gold bracelet.

***

Esther closes the door, meeting Ayana's awaiting eyes.

"How is she?"

Esther shakes her head.

"She's still having episodes, and when she's not, she just sits there staring. I'm worried about her, Ayana."

"Give it time Esther, she will get there."

"I can't keep doing this, Ayana. I can't keep losing children. "

"I know, Esther, I know."

Rebekah releases a sigh once her mother and Ayana walk off. Esther won't let anyone in Elena's room because of her "condition", which was another way to say Elena's mind is unstable and her magic has gotten out of control. She wakes up screaming and mumbling gibberish while her magic sends things flying across the room. It's so bad that Mikael left and had yet to come back.

"Rebekah, what did they say? How is she?" Kol whispers, coming up beside her.

"Stay here, I'm going in," Rebekah informs.

"No, you're not."

Rebekah and Kol pause, looking over at Elijah.

"How long have you been–" Rebekah asks.

"Long enough, you heard mother, it isn't safe."

"I'll go in there with her. She will be fine." Kol quickly chimes in.

Elijah pauses, thinking it over.

"Come on brother, you're worried about her too, aren't you?" Kol questions.

"Please Elijah," Rebekah begs

"Fine, but if anything happens, come right out."

"Thank you, brother." Rebekah says, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.

Kol and Rebekah step into the room, quickly closing the door behind them.
