Still, they had more important things to think about. Like how to eventually meet with their favorite characters, awake their magic, and to get more of these donuts. They were seriously so good.

Out of nowhere, they heard a sound coming from the woods. [Name] turned their head around. The bench they sat on was right next to the forest.

They frowned, probably just some critter moving about.

Then it came again. What was that sound? For some reason, it was familiar.

They got up, brushed off their clothes, and grabbed their donut bag. Was this a dumb idea? Maybe. [Name] would just check it out and then immediately sprint back, it should be ok! Plus their lungs were pretty big, they could scream for help from 100 miles away and Myles would still hear it. Also hidden on their body was a small ice dagger. Myles had the power to make un-meltable ice, so he quickly made a weapon for [Name] just incase anything happened.

[Name]'s friends often joked that they would be the first one to die in a horror movie, but they always refused it saying:

"No way - I'm not an idiot like every horror movie protagonist. If I heard an ominous-ass sound, you can bet I'm booking it the fuck out of there!" Well, looks like their friends were right after all.

But it wasn't just curiosity...it was a gut feeling as well; like their life would change forever if they checked this sound out. Hopefully for the better.

And [Name] couldn't pass up that opportunity. They loved adventure! So off they went, towards the source of the sound.

Myles had just caught up to the thief, both of them reaching a dead end in an alleyway. He was about a mile away from where [Name] was sitting at. There was a lot less people in this part of town, and he wanted to finish this as fast as possible to get back to them. He knew his master had a tendency to just get up and explore (and he'd be right).

"You have no where to go." Myles stated, making his way towards the thief confidently. "Stay there and things will be a lot easier." He placed his hand on his sword handle, ready to disarm this man - until he heard a pair of footsteps behind him.

"Hah, you sure that you're not the one with nowhere to go?" The thief asked, smug written all over his face. Myles turned around - the woman who got her purse stolen was there.

Myles relaxed. "Ah, ma'am. I'm surprised you were able to follow us. But please back away for your safety as I'm-"

A dagger flew past him, barely drawing blood on his cheek. His eyes widened.

"No need, boy. Of course I followed you - this was all apart of our plan after all~" The woman grinned, her weak facade nowhere to be seen. She held multiple daggers between her fingers on both hands. A sly, dangerous smile was on her face, in addition with her greedy eyes scanning him up and down.

It was a set-up.

Whoever was heroic enough to chase the thief down was rewarded with an ambush by the woman, their goods promptly stolen afterwards. Unforgivable. Myles' eyes narrowed, his grip tightening on his sword. From the looks of it, these two couldn't use elemental magic. They could be carrying a strength buff potion or two on them though.

"We weren't expecting such a young boy to come after us though - where's your mommy and daddy?" Called out behind him. Myles glanced at the man who pouted and tilted his head mockingly. "Did you think playing hero with a sword would be fun?" He laughed wickedly. "Rich kids these days, man. I bet you're regretting it now~"
