~This story is told in the perspective of Dr. Murphey Williamson~

The sound of the crashing waves allows me to quickly drift asleep. It repeats in the same pattern, swish, swash, swish, swash. As the night progresses, the sounds of the waves get softer, and slower. I twist and turn in my cot, trying to fall back asleep, but something just feels off.

I sit up in my cot and look out of the window of the tent, and I see something out in the distance. A ship?

I drape my lab coat over my back to receive some sort of warmth, and step outside of my tent. I grab my flashlight and click the button. I step on the dead leaves on the ground, crunch, crunch, and step around my camp.

As I near the water, I begin to hear somebody calling for help.

"Helloooo!! Anybody?? Somebody please help me!!!"

I walk toward the voice, "Everything okay?"

I turn to my right and see a man with a sailor outfit lying on the ground, partially in the water. I look in the water and notice the red color spread throughout the area. I hide my smirk.

The man winces as he tries to pull himself out of the water, "D-Does it look like everything is okay?" I put my calloused hand in front of him to help pull him out of the water, and he grabs it gladly. "Let's get you somewhere safe."

TIME SKIP

I turn to my stove and open the rusty metal cabinet, observing the variations of chemicals, herbs, liquids, medicines, and more materials. I turn to my right slightly to check if the marooned sailor is still lying down and distracted. Perfect.

I start a bonfire outside my large, dirty tent. The sparks coming from the bonfire fly up into the air and then quickly disappear. I place an old metal pot on the bonfire, then I fetch the ingredients needed to make my signature soup. It's strong and flavorful enough to cover up the taste of poison.

After some time, the soup is boiling and ready to be consumed. I can tell the sailor has fallen asleep because I can hear his low snoring. I quietly make my way over to the cabinet that contains all my chemicals and such, disguised as ingredients for food.

I graze my fingers along the various bottles, taking the one that is labeled, "Molasses". I bring it over to the pot and pour the thick substance into the pot of soup. I use the wooden spoon to thoroughly mix it into the dark orange soup while making sure there is no remnants of the substance I poured in. Some bubbles rise to the top, then it soon settles down.

The sound of my cot squeaking alarms me as I swiftly grab my notebook and a pencil.

I open the notebook and start writing.

I pour some soup into a bowl for the sailor.

I just need to make sure that he downs it all, and the results should be accurate.

This should be interesting...
