"How can anyone feel accomplished, if they're stuck in the same miserable pattern of  life."

Athea's POV

Every day is the same, I wake up, go to work, finish working, and then go straight home. A recurring cycle for me everyday.

I would love to seek something different but I live to work. I'm addicted to working, I can never stop.

But maybe that's the problem, I've worked so much that I haven't really experienced much.

The simple feelings like hope, desire, pleasure, and so much more. This life I'm living isn't really one most would want.

However, it's my life, so I'll keep living it, until-

I drop my pen, and close the journal due to knocking at my office door.

"Come in!" I say, with an annoyed expression, but with a calm tone.

"I was told to come and see you as soon as I got here." Gabriel says, eyeing me, as he takes a seat in the lounge chair by the window.

"Is there a problem?" I say, calmly looking at him.

"No, I'm just trying to understand you, that's all." He says, still looking at me and then turns to gaze out of the window.

"Do you always do that to people? Observe and Analyze them?" I say, walking over and taking a seat in the other lounge chair across from him.

"Yes I do... but you're a complicated person aren't you? You can't decide what you really want out of life, can you?" Gabriel says, still gazing out at the window.

"Nice try, but I already have everything I could ever possibly want... Now let's discuss your position here." I say, looking at me while he is still facing the window.

"Having everything doesn't mean you feel and experience everything, so I'm guessing you really don't have everything." Gabriel says, finally facing me with a cocky grin on his face.

"Ok, listen, I don't know what kind of psychological thing you have going on, but you will not test it on me..." I say, irritated that he really assumed that he could get into my head like that.

Gabriel looks at me unamused, as if he just took what I said and completely ignored it.

"Alright, let's discuss your position here, you will be in charge of all the photography, what gets posted and what needs to be posted. At the end of every year we hold a gathering for charity, any kind of photography will help...Any questions?" I say, while looking straight at him, while he absorbs everything I just said.

"None at all." Gabriel says straightforward before he turns and gazing back out of the window.

"Okay great. Also, there is a launch party tomorrow night, and since you are in charge of the photography, would you accompany me there?" I ask, calmly.

"I'll have to see if I'm available that evening, I will send you a quick text before hand, but have a great day." Gabriel says, as he walks out of my office before I could say anything else.

I really shouldn't have lost my patience but it's hard especially since he had that cocky grin on his face.

If this is how it's going to be with every meeting or event we have with each other, it's no way I'm gonna be able to get work done.
